"The U.S. Defense Department released the identities of the troops late Wednesday, saying four were with the Navy special forces three of them Navy SEALS and the rest were soldiers."
God Bless them and their families.
Some yes,one of them from Toms River,NJ
Inserting a Seal team it sounds like....I wonder who they were hunting.
Damn, damn damn!!, when and average soldier, sailor, airmen or marine goes down its bad, but when the special forces go down its worse for all of us,they are the cream of the crop,we can not afford to lose them, and probably to a P.O.S. Blackhawk helicopter. bring back the huey’s so we dont have these losses.
Huey vs Blackhawk ???? Different war different requirements, advanced electronics, heavier carrying capabilities and troop capacity, larger weapon systems. and hopeful better armored. (Able to withstand being hit with rounds from Daisy rifle.)
Well as a 35 year veteran aircraft mechanic who has worked on as well as flown both blackhawks and huey’s, I will take the huey all day long, blackhawk composit aiframes are trash, if you look at the history of the blackhawks, the airframes on even the newest models are all worn out and ready for the trash heap but huey’s, will be around long after the blackhawk are totally forgotten about. Also you facts are all wrong, the blackhawk will not cary more than a huey, there underslung load capacity is 3500 lbs at sea level and the huey is 4500 at sea level, the only advantage the blackhawk has is larger internal capacity but all other things like avionics can all be upgraded to the latest dirt cheap.
