Planned Parenthood Scared by Tea Party Success

By Kathleen Gilbert

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 23, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In addition to discontent with out-of-control spending and government expansion, the American Tea Party movement is motivated by a strong devotion to the right to life of the unborn - something that appears to have caught the pro-abortion establishment, including Planned Parenthood, off-guard.

In a Facebook post Monday, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America expressed frustration at the burgeoning popularity of thoroughly pro-life candidates who have shot to stardom thanks to Tea Party momentum.

"It's easy to laugh at some of the crazy statements made by the newest Republican U.S. Senate candidate, Christine O'Donnell and others running on extreme anti-abortion platforms," wrote the group. "But did you know that the day after O'Donnell's primary victory in Delaware, she raised $1,000,000 online?"

The grassroots Tea Party movement, while largely dismissed by mainstream media and Democrat leaders early on - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi famously wrote off the movement as "astroturf" – has grabbed the attention of both parties after Tea Party senate candidates snatched the GOP nomination in seven states earlier this month.

The Republicans' "Pledge to America," a document released Thursday outlining a congressional agenda for the party, clearly aimed to please Tea Partiers. Party leaders, distancing themselves from "politicians in Washington," promised to shrink government, reform Congress, and in general facilitate "listening to the American people and fielding their concerns and ideas for turning things around."

In its statement, PPFA lamented that the Tea Party has ushered in "a groundswell of support across the country for these anti-choice candidates." "They're everywhere, raising money and support," it said, and urged supporters to help the abortion giant "fight them, stop them, and defeat them."

On Wednesday, the Washington Examiner noted that the Tea Party's impact in the upcoming midterm elections will mean trouble for pro-choice incumbents, particularly those among the GOP.

Examiner columnist Timothy P. Carney noted that the four top casualties of Tea Party furor - Lisa Murkowski, Mike Castle, Charlie Crist and Arlen Specter - were all pro-choice members or former members of the Republican Party. In contrast, all of the successful Tea Party candidates for Senate are strongly pro-life.

I guess with IRS investigating Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, and having an abortion clinic closed because of lost taxpayer funds, Planned Parenthood is having a rough time.

The babies they are killing are even having a rougher time...

Planned Parenthood also grossly misrepresented the facts.

When they referred to Christine O'Donnell raising $1 million, it was much closer to $2 million at that point (around $1.9 million).

It is now over $2.3 million, but it has been over a week since Karl Tokoyo Rove spoke about Christine...

Planned Parenthood is as much a terrorist organization as Al Quaeda or the Taliban - the only difference being their victims are totally defenseless.

Planned Parenthood knows very well what reducing the size and limiting the reach of the federal government means for it and for federally funded and protected abortion.

I wonder how long it takes Planned Parenthood to rake in $2M selling... you know... parts.

Don’t muddle words and meanings. PP is killing but isn’t terroristic in their methods. Words have meanings and PP isn’t a terrorist organization any more than livestock have feelings that we meat eaters need to consider.

Stop Abortion, save the life of a taxpayer.
Think about the revenue generated by 50 million.

I know many many Tea Party members, including myself, and not one of us has any issue with Planned parenthood. In fact, its the movement is about taxes, not birth right.

Are you aware that when a mammal is frightened and under tremendous stress certain hormones are released into the blood stream and make their way to muscles and then get ingested by the ones who eat the animal? I do enjoy my steaks and burgers, but humane ways to end the lives of animals will not hurt you or me and may avoid undue chemical onslaughts on our bodies.

It has been shown that children alive int he womb can learn to ignore aq loud sound. If these children can learn while in the womb then they have a soul of life and terminating that life with extreme prejudice to ward their right to life is terrorist in nature, though other unborn children are not likely to be terrforized by the slaughter ... but can you be certain? Do you really know that much about the nature of consciousness and the collective unconscious of the species?

As I observed on another thread yesterday, fiscal sanity and moral sanity are not mutually exclusive.

Planned Parenthood kills babies and subjects our children to horrific sex education programs.

But Planned Parenthood is enabled to do this because it is hand in glove with big government and sucks at the government teat.

A steady stream of federal, state, and local taxes go into the pockerts of Planned Parenthood, enabling them to indulge in their sickening activities.

Planned Parenthood must be defunded at every level: National, state, and local.

Of course they are. They're of the exact same spirit, with absolutely no regard for the rights of the innocent.
