I'd put the blame on who it belongs, the idiots in DC who voted 93% for 0bama with his stating flat out that he would do everything he could to kill school choice.

The same group of idiots also voted out the current mayor who was actually doing something to fix the schools in DC and replaced him with yet another liberal who has no interest in fixing the school system. Yes, they chose to go backwards.

Instead of sympathizing with the residents of DC, we should be doing everything we can to get the 23rd amendment to the Constitution repealed.

As is typical with the leftists in all matters... they want the ISSUE, not the SOLUTION.

Why did he say he could have pulled strings to get his daughters into the better public schools of DC? Why didn’t he do that then? It would have been a powerful statement if he had sent his own kids to public schools. But instead, he sent them to an elite private school.

It’s funny sometimes these topics come up, where liberals deride rich Republicans for not having a vested interest in public schools, and sending their own kids to private schools, etc. But we see that wealthy Democrats do the same thing, and avoid sending their own kids to the public schools. As much as good liberals praise the public schools, those with a choice avoid those schools.

Yes, our President and his Secretary of Education both have said “we’ll pursue whatever works.” And yet, despite the proven progress that the DC Opportunity Scholarships were delivering (and the healthy competition it was bringing to the public school system) their debt to the Teachers’ Unions was much more important.

I would love to see an advertisement showing the Obama girls going off in their limo to Sidwell Friends while those denied their Opportunity Scholarships are sent off to the work-houses of the DC Public Schools.

PS: Where did Arne Duncan chose to live when he came to Washington? Not in DC, I can assure you.
