Absentee voting begins Tuesday

On Tuesday workers at elections boards across the state will begin allowing in-person absentee voting and begin mailing out absentee ballots to voters who prefer voting by mail.

About one-third of Erie County's voters used absentee ballots in 2008, said Jennifer Ferback, deputy director of the Erie County Election Board.

Ferback said voters who want to cast their ballots early and in person can visit the election board office on the first floor of the County Services Center, 2900 Columbus Ave., during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. On the Saturday before the election, Oct. 30, the office also will be open for absentee balloting from 8 a.m. until noon.

Voters who want to request an absentee ballot to mail in may download a form from the election board's website, electionsonthe.net/oh/erie/, or from the website for the Ohio secretary of state's office, sos.state.oh.us/. Or Erie County voters may phone the election board office at 419-627-7601 to ask for a form.

I heard reports during the Alaska primary that they would have to resort to counting the absentee ballots and the MILITARY votes. Shouldn't they go first? I've always wondered if a few absentee ballots find their way to some File 13 during the process. I don't trust 'em. I get to the booth on election day. Just got used to it, I guess.

Alaska's Murkowski Is Finished

All ballots need to have been postmarked by August 24th, Election Day. But ballots coming from in-state and domestically have a deadline of September 3rd to be received and September 8th for overseas and military votes.

I was taught that absentee was for when it was impossible to by physically present on election day. This “people who prefer to vote by mail” stuff is a crock IMO.

Please do not vote absentee if you have a choice. It is VERY hard to challenge a regular ballot compared with the options for challenging an absentee ballot. I would never give the crooks a better chance to ignore my vote. If they want to beat us, we should make them bring in more dead voters, instead of allowing them to challenge an administrative detail on an absentee ballot.

If you have no choice, that’s different, but I hope no conservative will vote absentee if the only reason is for the convenience.

I'm kinda old-fashioned, and I believe much of the fraud could be eliminated if we just required voting in person only, except the military. Second, positive voter ID required when you show up. And third, an indelible ink fingerprint would be taken, and you would be like the Iraqi's with the blue ink (positive ID for one man/one vote). Motor-voter should be outlawed. Too many honest citizens' votes are neutralized by vote fraud, and, I believe, vote fraud should mandate a penalty of at least 1 year imprisonmnet (no plea bargains, no second chances, and NO TOLERANCE).

But...that's just me applying common sense, which is nearly against the law in the eyes of Judges anymore...

Given all the doubt about recounts and absentee balots created by Dem fraud and incidents like in Minnesota, I think you can do the most for your candidate by casting a vote on election day that will show up in the original vote count.

Imagine if a few thousand Coleman absentee voters had instead gotten off their asses and showed up on tuesday. It would have changed the whole game if colman had looked to have been up by 3000, rather than 700 after the original count. Dems looking at numbers like that may have not bothered with their tricks. And if you show up, there is far less chance of having your vote robbed, as any overseas soldier can tell you.

Get off the couch and show up on Nov. 2, you lazy POS.

You certainly have the right to hold that opinion. I like voting by mail, because I never know when I am going to have to work late. With having to be at work by 7 or 7:15, working late would mean I don't get to vote.

I'm in a similar position. I also find that it's nice to have some time to research the candidates. The info for the local races is a little harder to find, especially the judges.

IMHO, its better to vote with all the information you need and that's a lot easier by mail. The fraud worries me, but since my district continues to elect Kucinich, it isn't like my vote counts for much against the libtard borg anyway.

I live in Ohio too and going to Vote used to be a special event. Now, being unable to stand in a line any length of time due to age related problems, I vote by Absentee Ballot. It worries me tho—always wonder if they really count them and if so, do they do it by hand, machine or what? After the Acorn thing of 2008; the stuff that went on with Al Franken’s eventual selection, etc.—I’m always sort of skeptical re how they handle the ballots.

When I took my mom, age 87, last year, the voting staff there let us go ahead because she could not stand up for very long. That, or take one of those portable folding chairs.
