All Americans, including conservatives, understand why any leftist would vote Democrat this year. The Democratic Party is now America's version of a European Social Democratic or even Green Party. In domestic policy, there is no significant difference between the American and European parties.

So there is no question as to why those on the left would vote Democrat. There is, however, a legitimate question regarding non-leftist Americans — why would any of them vote for a Democrat this year?

Our family were the original Reagan Democrats. Conservative on all issues. We supported a strong military, and my parents voted against every tax increase on the ballot. Yet because they were fed the lie that “Republicans are for the Rich, Democrats are for the Middle Class”, so they just voted Democrat time after time. Over time, with a little educating from this guy who just hit the radio [Rush], My parents and all five of us kids saw the error of our ways and found our real home in the Republican Party.

Speaking as a former Democrat, I find it hard to believe anyone short of being a “Leftist” would feel comfortable in that party today. And it is far far more Left than it was when we left it.

Don't forget "anti-religious bigotry". I khow several people who, functionally, are conservative but hate the religious right so much that they vote Democrat. Nuts!

There are also the lazy "Family Heritage" types who vote D because Granddaddy was a big George Wallace supporter.

Voting Democrat is like a drunken one night stand.
