Truck tonnage may have increased 2.9% year-over-year in August, but the collapse in month-over-month levels is much more illuminating.

Tonnage fell by 2.7% from July to August, according to the American Trucking Association.

That's the biggest month over month fall since March 2009.

The chief economist at the ATA, Bob Costelo, says this slowdown was expected and that it should be slowing further with the economy for the remainder of the year.

From the American Trucking Association:

Prices of diesel played a big role when the Dems controlled the House in 2007 because they refused to lift the drilling ban. Not oil prices now, it’s fear about what the future will bring under an anti-business admin. IMHO

It’s those diesel trains that can go 400 miles on a gallon of gas.

Their advertisements actually state 1 ton of payload 400 miles on 1 gallon of fuel.. not quite the same..

Still, that's not bad. But I never got that impression from the commercials. Maybe that was the idea. I shall from this day forward look for derivations from the truth in each ad, except Bud-lite 'cause they're always honest, honest.

Didja know, in Germany it is illegal to label Bud or Bud Light, “Bier”?

They do not meet the german definition of beer.

I did not know that, Patton. They're half right; Bud-lite isn't beer (Bier).

Still, if I'm on a boat (in America) and getting thirsty, I'm grabbin' a Bud out of the ice chest over an Ale for drinkability. If I'm in a boat (in Germany) and getting thirsty, I'll ask the German for a Bud that he's been hiding in his backpack all day. :^)

If he say's, "I don't have any Bud", I'll smack him in the head with a sausage and tell him, "I don't have any sausage, either."

I can forgive a lot of things, but getting this far off-topic isn’t one of them. Get back to trucking, fool.

LOL - well, they do. It is the Bohemian version, not the American one.

Das Bierreinheitsgebot von 1516 - Bier may contain only wheat, malt, hops, water, and barley.

Bud is made of rice.
