An agreement that Adams struck with former Bell City Administrator Robert Rizzo, who was arrested on corruption charges Tuesday, says that the incoming chief suffered the lingering effects of back, knee and neck injuries sustained years earlier and that the municipality would support his planned application for a disability pension. He filed for a less lucrative non-disability retirement as he prepared to leave his job as Glendale police chief. That application was approved, but he rescinded it the same month his service officially ended in Glendale and he went to work for Bell in July 2009, Glendale and state pension officials say.
Randy Adams had himself declared disabled even as he was hired for the job, a move that could make him millions in tax-free pension income when he retires, according to records and interviews.

Oooooh....another “four star” Chief-of-Police.
This happens all over America with government officials. Government is out of hand and needs to be reigned in. A lot of lawyers that are elected officials aide in this problem also. The people are being bilked by government on every front.
The time for the revolt is now...anyone who thinks that this sort of thing isn’t going on in a lot of other municipality’s is crazy. Politicians and government employees(especially union employees) are a recipe for disaster as this story attests to.These people think there is no limit to what we can support. This bastard should go to jail for a long time.
my husband knew him a few years ago, heck of a nice person.
When he's not robbing the taxpayers, I'm sure.
all kinds of scammers, con artists, and assorted crooks have seemed like “nice” people to someone or other
AMEN!!! REVOLT NOW!!! These civil “SERVANTS” HA! are sucking us dry with their PENSIONS !
knew him from the city of Glendale, ca he served as chief of police there we were surprised to hear him leaving to go to the city of Bell, he was on the executive board of the Boy Scouts of America. Maybe he could lend some help to fundraising since the council is probably going to cease to exist due to lack of donations.

Absolutely correct.
While we need to utterly defeat the RaceMarxist on a federal level, EVERYONE here show be looking closely at their LOCAL police department, municipal government, fire department and school district for this kind of, often wired-in, taxpayer theft.
The pension systems would be the best place to start, because I believe they represent the greatest overall source of ingrained corruption.
Does anyone know if the public will still have to pay the retirements of these crooks. Almost everything I read is even though they are found guilty of fraud they will still get their retirement, disability etc.
That would be adding insult to injury. I hope they go to jail and do not benefit in any way
Yeah. He seems to be really good at that sort of thing.
So are a lot of these scam artists. I used to work for one - and I still think he’d be the nicest next door neighbor in terms of socially pleasant, but he was/is ripping California taxpayers OFF bigtime!!! Total parasite.
“my husband knew him a few years ago, heck of a nice person.”
Yeah...successful, big-time THIEVES can AFFORD to be nice, can’t they!!

Are these thugs still in the slam??
No big surprise.
Cops nationwide use this disability scam to pad their retirement with a tax free pension.
Ironically, they call themselves law enforcement officers when a large portion of them are participants in fraud.
Example:
“A third of NYPD retirees since last year have received costly disability pensions, new data show.
Of 1,363 police officers who retired from January 2009 to last month, 454, or 33 percent, collect tax-free pensions of three-quarters or more of their last year’s compensation”
“Most cops can retire after 20 years with pensions based on half their last year’s pay, including overtime. Those disabled — either off-duty or on the job — are entitled to three-quarters of their pay and many take home more.”
I just gotta my hands on some small town.
he did nothing criminal
he only accepted the income.
