The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Johnson picking up 54% support, while Feingold, who is running for his fourth term in the Senate, gets 42% of the vote with leaners included. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and two percent (2%) more are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Outstanding! We need to keep pushing forward
Obama can perform miracles — he can turn Wisconsin into a solid red state (I hope).
To cheeseheads — is there something specific to Feingold (besides his being a hard-core leftist) pulling him down?
Great Job O!
Wow. Way to go O.
Now, a real "nice regular guy" is running against him and Russ has publicly showed his nasty side. He also showed the same at numerous town halls during the health care debate.
Add to that the popularity of the Republican Candidate for Governor (Scott Walker) in the Milwaukee area - I believe this gives Johnson some coattails (Milwaukee is one of the two places that turns Wisconsin from Red to Blue) and you have a perfect storm against old Rusty the Red. It can't come soon enough for those of us in the Tax Hell known as Wisconsin
Part of it is that Feingold seems to have become a Washington guy. He also started out the campaign with some really sleazy mudslinging ads targeting Johnson.
Johnson has done a great job with his TV campaign. He has been very effective and turned some of the Feingold ads around, especially the one focusing on Social Security, where Feingold accused him of calling it a ponzi scheme. Johnson went on the air and said, “Yes, I called it a ponzi scheme, because it is. Feingold and the other Washington politicians spent all the money that was supposed to be in the trust fund.”
Now if we can just get the zero to campaign for ALL the senate races :P
You know what they say: when the challenger to an incumbent breaks 50%, you can put a fork in the incumbent.
No wonder Feingold distanced himself from that WH loser and fraud...the only thing the fraud did for us is drive Americans to oust all connected with what has happened to this country...54% this close to the election looks as if we’ll have another Republican senator in a supposed safe seat...HA
Chet .. I had No Idea that you posted stuff like this!
Any pit-bull goodies coming out later? LOL
BTW: I wish these polls were outlawed.
They mean Nothing except when they are being used to discourage people from voting ‘or’ to “Steer” an election itself!
The O-Man strikes again! Turns out he’s the best ally we have... in a back-handed sort of way!
I stand jaw agap in disbelief.
Stood the same way when a Republican had the audacity to seek Kennedy’s seat.
Holy Cow! This is GREAT news!
Twelve points is only “leans Republican”?
12 points back; and what has he done wrong? Hsnt he always been an "independent" voice for Wisconsin ? It's not fair!
This is Wisconsin, after all.
Russ: the only “gold” whose value is declining...
Not this time...we have a score to settle with the criminal Jim Doyle administration and Feingold will be crushed by the same voter anger.
That’s good news. It puts us at 46 or 47 seats that are pretty much locked up at this point (with Buck in CO ahead, but within a stable 5 points).
41. Ohio - Portman
42. Missouri - Blunt
43. New Hampshire - Ayotte
44. Florida - Rubio
45. Pennsylvania - Toomey
46. Wisconsin - Johnson
47. Colorado - Buck
Slight Lean R
48. Illinois - Kirk
49. West Virginia - Raese
50. Nevada - Angle
51. Washington - Rossi
Slight lean D
52. Connecticut - McMahon
53. California - Fiorina
54. New York (Special) - Gillibrand
55. Delaware - ODonnell
It appears that only half of Chet99’s posted articles are about dogs...
Is that shack still there or have the loonies burnt it to the ground already?
Even Viagra can’t help Russ with his Johnson problem
Good reponse. Please send it to Fiorina.
I’m pretty sure that Ron Johnson owns several pit bulls :-)
“Outstanding! We need to keep pushing forward”
Wow, if that holds for the next 33 days it won’t even be close!
“is there something specific to Feingold (besides his being a hard-core leftist) pulling him down?”
Connection to McLame? ;)
I liked his Ponzi scheme comment and that he didn’t back down from it. I supported Johnson’s opponent in the Primary but I’m pleasantly surprised that Johnson’s starting to show a backbone. He’ll need it.
Johnson went on the air and said, Yes, I called it a ponzi scheme, because it is. Feingold and the other Washington politicians spent all the money that was supposed to be in the trust fund.
Brilliant. Johnson, Christie and some of the new brand of Conservatives are starting to really resonate!
“This means that Finegold will win 55% to 54%.”
Sadly the people of AZ rewarded the other half of MCCain Feingold. The law that gave the Dems Congress in 2006/2008 and that got the muslim elected.
“Yes, I called it a ponzi scheme, because it is. Feingold and the other Washington politicians spent all the money that was supposed to be in the trust fund.”
I LOVE IT!! Hit them back HEAD-ON. Don’t apologize for telling the truth - use their ad to make your point.
I’m surprised that it’s not a 30 point margin.
Here’s hoping. A 20% or 30% win would be amazing. We can do it everywhere
I think it leans Republican only because this is the first poll that shows such a large margin. Another couple of weeks of similar results and it will move to solid Republican.
With this type of margin ACORN and the SEIU will be hard pressed to manufacture the votes needed for Feingold to win.
This helps with House seats there, especially the one to win David Obey’s seat where we have an excellent candidate in Sean Duffy.
Obama has made some appearances in Wisconsin lately, I believe.
What an effect!!!!!!
This surprises me. I’ve always thought Feingold’s seat was as solid as the hiccup’s and that it was Feingold’s for life if he wanted it.
I’ll believe he loses when it actually happens.
Was this done POST-Hussein rally in Madison/Leningrad?
