CNN Inks New Long-Term Deal with Anderson Cooper
TV Newser ^ | Sept. 30, 2010 | Alex Werpin

Posted on 09/30/2010 3:30:48 PM PDT by Beaten Valve

CNN has extended its contract with “AC360″ anchor Anderson Cooper, keeping him on the network long-term. The contract extension comes as Cooper signed a deal with Telepictures and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution to host a daily syndicated talk show.

In all likelihood, the extension came as Cooper and CNN reworked his contract to allow him to do the syndie series.

“I am pleased that Anderson Cooper has extended his relationship with CNN and will be with us for years to come,” said CNN Worldwide president Jim Walton in a statement. “I am also pleased to congratulate Anderson on his new relationship with Telepictures. We think it will be good for Anderson, good for CNN and good for Time Warner.”

“I remain as committed as ever to my program on CNN, and will be with CNN for years to come,” said Cooper in a statement.

Given CNN’s ratings, doing anything long term is probably ill-advised.

“Are there no investors or shareholders of CNN?”

Time Warner. Yes - one of the largest if not the largest is also one of the largest in Disney/ABC NEws and News Corp/Fox.

Prince Al Waleed. The Saudi king’s nephew and also huge contributor to Cordoba House aka the 9/11 Mosque.

Keep watching TV and paying cbale and sat TV bills because Islam appreciates it. It helps them complete the Islamification of the West much faster.

They also have mega deals with GE/NBC/MSNBC/CNBC, Bloomber and Viacom/CBS.

The America pubic has no clue.

When they got rid of the CNN Chief this week, you;d think the network would learn from their mistakes...but apparently stupidity is infectious at that network.

I guess the folks over at CNN don’t like ratings or money after all.

CNN's commitment to their ideology is more important than making their shareholders happy. But, it could be that the shareholders are not investing in CNN to make money; they're probably investing in the losers because they too believe that ideology is more important than making a profit.

When ideology trumps sound business practice, the insanity will continue.

He simply was given an extension...no pay raise. For CNN...they really have no strategy to improve anything...and Anderson can just keep doing what he does. I don’t management cares...and this keeps them at a certain level which they can easily predict.
