( Sean Bielat ) A GOP unknown is in striking range of Barney Frank
Examiner ^ | September 30, 2010 | Byron York

Sean Bielat, the Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts' 4th District, has had just one conversation with his Democratic opponent, Rep. Barney Frank.

It was in August, at a parade in New Bedford. "I went up to introduce myself and said, 'Nice to meet you,'" Bielat recalls. "He said, 'I wish I could say the same, but you've made this personal. You've been attacking me.' Then he turned and walked away."

Bielat remembers thinking that was a little odd, since at that very moment Frank's Web site featured plenty of attacks on Bielat. But the brief encounter set the tone for what has become an increasingly contentious campaign. The nervousness plaguing Democrats nationwide has touched even Frank, a 14-term incumbent who hasn't faced a serious challenger in years.

Bielat is 35 years old, a Marine who spent four years on active duty and is now a major in the Reserve. He's a graduate of Georgetown University with a master's from Harvard and an MBA from Wharton. He's devoted a good portion of his professional life to manufacturing the high-tech robots that defuse improvised explosive devices in Iraq and Afghanistan. In other words, he's a serious man.

In the spring and summer of 2009, Bielat watched in dismay as Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress pursued one big-government initiative after another.

Joe Miller is running for the Senate, not the House.
There were a number of non-incumbents TPX endorsed for the Senate, all for open seats except for Joe Miller and Christine O’Donnell, but not one challenger was endorsed in a House race.

I thought the Tea Parties were all about political outsiders taking on the Washington Establishment that corrupts both parties. Apparently not to the Tea Party Express.

Correction: Delaware was also an open seat. Castle wasn’t the incumbent, he just acted like it.

Oops! That’s still the Senate. Sorry about that. ;o)

However, the House should be ours, and has been in the W column for quite a while. It is the People’s House, after all.

“In fact, has the Tea Party Express actually endorsed any grassroots challengers for the House, or only incumbents?”

I think the TEA Party Express is putting their money and endorsements where they are needed most.

“Joe Miller is running for the Senate, not the House.”

Yep...you’re right! I realized that while I was in bed, and got out of bed to correct myself.

“I thought the Tea Parties were all about political outsiders taking on the Washington Establishment that corrupts both parties. Apparently not to the Tea Party Express.”

I dunno...I think the House has been in the bag for some time...IF the turnout is as we’ve been led to expect.

The Senate, OTOH, is where the fight is.

Have you missed, or ignored, the fight between the Ruling Class Republicans and the Country Class Republicans? The Ruling Class Republicans in the Senate are the worst, and aren’t up for election but once every six years. At least the House Ruling Class isn’t able to afford the lofty goals that the Senate...Ruling Class on steroids...is able to afford.

Republicans need every seat they can win to take back the House from Pelosi and her flying monkeys.
Endorsing a Democrat like Walt Minnick isn't going to help that.
I think the TEA Party Express is putting their money and endorsements where they are needed most.
I don't know about that.
Tea Party Express endorsed Jim DeMint.
Now Jim is as worthy a candidate for reelection as any, but he's not exactly in a race where he is in dire need of endorsements or money.
I think he's about 60 points ahead of his non-competition there.
Is that really a race that needs it?
Same goes for Mike Pence. He's not exactly facing a tight race.
Have you missed, or ignored, the fight between the Ruling Class Republicans and the Country Class Republicans?
Certainly not, but it's really not Ruling Class Republicans vs. Country Class Republicans.
It is just THE Ruling Class vs. We The People.
And there are a lot more Ruling Class Democrats than Republicans.
And now that the primaries are over, The Tea Party Express should be pivoting to back these Citizen Politicians who are taking on the Ruling Class Democrats in November.
I'd like to see a lot more attention paid to these challengers fighting Ruling Class Democrats in tight races to take our country back, and less attention to incubents in safe seats.

There are a lot of Tea Party organizations out there, but out of all of them, unfortunately the one with the biggest name ID seems to be the least helpful and the most clueless.

Lots of wasted potential from TPX.

In a ideal world Bonny Fwank, Chris Dodd, Bill Clinton and Jimmah Carter would all be sharing a jail cell with a single bed, hot bunking it. The Community Reinvestment Act forcing banks to give loans to NINJAs (No Income, No Job, No Assets) pushed by these collectivist cretins eventually crashed the economy.

Drove by Barney’s campaign headquaters the other day. The sign on the front door said,

“Enter in Rear”

It is understandable that in their first meeting Barney treat Mr. Bielat with such disdain.

After all he isnt dealing with a Gentleman, he is dealing with a fem homosexual in a fem snit.

OK, now that’s just one really ugly (albeit clever) metaphor.

Bawney Fwank is the epitome of all that is wrong in today’s Democratic Party.

“in striking range of barney... I’d be careful about getting too close.”

I agree. I’d want to see the poll, but not the pole.
