Gloria Allred, the attorney at the center of this week's spectacle over Meg Whitman's illegal immigrant housekeeper, spent time working for Jerry Brown's gubernatorial campaign in the mid-1970s, according to a decades-old article in an American Bar Association magazine.
Allred has downplayed her ties to Brown. But to the Whitman campaign - which released a photograph of Allred and Brown at a C-SPAN panel in 1994 - the celebrity attorney is long-time supporter of the former governor and a partisan Democrat.
The ABA article, written in 1985, describes the beginnings of Allred's practice:
Allred and Maroko set up quarters in February 1976 on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles ... Allred, 43, had spent the previous four years working on California governor Jerry Brown's campaign and as a National Organization for Women volunteer.
The Brown campaign said the immigration controversy "has nothing to do with us," and accused Whitman of trying to divert attention from own problems. At her press conference this week, Allred said she had been critical of Brown in her book, "Fight Back And Win," and she mocked assertions that her $150 donation influenced her or the housekeeper.
"Yeah I'm a very big spender," Allred said. "In 2006, apparently I gave him $150."

Since a lawyer’s time spent advocating for a client is their stock in trade, it seems that Ms. Allred is making a contribution in kind to Moonbeam’s camapign. He should be required to report it and she should be listed as a contributor. If Moonbeam was a conservative, Ms. Allred would probably be facing a bar investigation. I’m just sayin’...

In 2003, she represented a woman who claimed Schwartzenegger sexually misbehaved. Lawsuit got thrown out.
Allred calls Whitman a liar with no evidence, yet she was on Mark Levin claiming no connection to Jerry Brown.
BWAHAHAHA! This isn’t partisan? Sure it is. The very fact that this lawsuit comes just a month out from the election proves it is a hack job.

It is just one attack for no legitimate reason to help Brown. The timing reveals this.
She just betrayed a client for political purposes. Should she be disbarred for this?

Anyone can see Allred is all for Brown. But it could be other ‘associations’ hiring Allred. She admitted to Mark Levin that she was being paid by a 3rd party. On Levin’s show she refused to use the term ‘alien’..(she said ‘Nicky’ wasn’t from outer space!) and insisted on ‘undocumented worker’. Some lawyer...ALIEN is the legal term! She’s a hispanderer.
Of note is that Allred is ‘good friends’ with one Joe Ortiz.
