WASHINGTON Newt Gingrich may be running for the Republican presidential nomination. Or maybe he is just running all the way to the bank.
The wonkish former House speaker and unofficial Republican pundit in chief is tossing around provocative commentary and juicy hints about running for president, making sure he's in the mix as his party begins sorting out its field for the 2012 election.
It appears to be working, extending a remarkable staying power that has made Gingrich an A-list fixture on the Republican scene more than a decade after he resigned from office amid political setbacks. It's also made him rich, with a sprawling empire of commercial and nonprofit ventures that often intersect, blurring the boundaries of his public and private roles.
Gingrich, who stepped down as speaker at the relatively young age of 55, is certainly not the first to cash in on a political career. But he has blazed a path unlike any other, essentially taking on the role of a politician without the hassles of holding office.
He runs a communications firm, a production company and a handful of advocacy groups. He makes documentaries and self-improvement videos, commands fees of at least $40,000 per speech and provides paid commentary on Fox News often cross-promoting his projects through various media...
His flagship political operation, a tax-exempt conservative group called American Solutions for Winning the Future, has spent at least $2.2 million over the past two years on private jets and executive chauffeur services.
Overall, the group has spent nearly all of the $20 million it has raised over that period on administrative and travel expenses...

I know this is just an AP hit piece, but I hope that that is not true.
Newt is GOP slick Willie.....
Scroll down the page about halfway to see the expenditures:
Newt BLEW it when after he led the pubbie revolution he allowed it to spend WAAAAY too much of my money and I will not forget or forgive.
You ain’t gonna get the nomination insider boy. Sooo go make some more commercials with hillary and pelosi.
***His flagship political operation, a tax-exempt conservative group***
Did you think the group made widgets???
A political action group is purely PR - meeting, greeting, schmoozing and encouraging/advising candidates with the right philosphy to run for office or support those who do.
Thank God. He is a swine. He is no conservative. Another Karl Rove.
.....He is swine....
You got that right....in spades.
According to AP, Newt’s sinister plan is:
1. Brew up buzz
note to all political wannabees with experience in DC
... it is your experience in DC that IMO disqualifies you
it is going to take all new blood in there .. if we can even keep it
Oh brother. AP working overtime to generate heat under Gingrich whilst Rome burns.
That said, AP stinks in its "reporting".
FYI — you may be interested in this. I’m going to be very interested in whether Craig Shirley’s upcoming bio of Gingrich is an honest portrayal.
“Marianne and I, I meant Calista and I ...”
New is bad news, but it’s still the Asspress. They have no interest whatsoever in Democrat foibles.
Correction: meant “Newt is bad news...”
Keep dreaming, AP. Gingrich is DOA.
” Overall, the group has spent nearly all of the $20 million it has raised over that period on administrative and travel expenses.
I know this is just an AP hit piece, but I hope that that is not true. “
That’s the least of Newt’s tricks. Here’s an article today about his hispanic outreach...
Stick with Newt, and you will get nothing more than AMNESTY, global warming nonsense, etc. Gingrich is a JAR...Just Another Rino.
Dont fall for his double talk...he pushed Bushs amnesty, going so far as to pen a letter to the WSJ with Norquist, Tamar Jacoby, etc...ALL open border proponents.

Why Newt might be the GOPs savior among Latinos
Marisa Treviño de LatinaLista.net escribe sobre las múltiples iniciativas de Newt que buscan acercarse y crear un diálogo con los hispanos. Para Latinos, TheAmericano.com, y The Americano First Annual Hispanic Forum son tres excelentes ejemplos.
Newt Gingrich has “0”, I repeat “0”, as in “ZERO”, chance of becoming President of this country!
Marianne and I, I meant Calista and I ...
Is that really a quote from him?
No, not to my knowledge, but it could be. The first time I heard him talk about “Calista and I,” I remember wondering: Whatever happened to “Marianne and I...?”
of course it is true - newt cheats...on his wives and on the people that support him!! Newt Cheats. NEWT CHEATS.
I’ve always believed that Newt betrayed the 1994 Republican revolution because Hillary had his FBI file revealing he was banging his admin asst instead of his wife.
He sure was a puppet to the Clintons.
God, Newt sucks.
Newt’s time has come and gone. Lets move on. DeMint for President.
