I approve of this kind of action and can’t imagine why Imamobama allows it to continue.

Does anyone for a moment think this is not calculated to create the problems we have seen in the last week in the closeing of the supply routes and the two latest attacks on the supply convoys?

What a better justification to cut and run because we cannot easily resupply our troops.

His justification is to stop our actions to save the delicate relations we have with a so-called friend in the region. He needs any plausible excuse they can spin to make it look like they are doing the right thing.

We see the ramp-up in the drone attacks and who are we netting? In large part just your garden variety “insurgent” is reported, but one begins to wonder if some of these aren’t actually true friends helping us who are targeted by the ISI. Is it not information we recive from them that adds to the target list?

Now we hear that the drones are buzzing the locals. He is bound and dtermined to get one of them shot down to give the “insurgents” a major propoganda victory to use to recruit even more “insurgents”.

With little more than 20,000 troops, we swept into Afghanistan and routed the Taliban in just a few weeks. We can do the same to “Pokiston” but this time don’t rely on the local tribes. Use the drones to drop leaflets instead of missles, letting them know we are coming and end the message with GW’s ultimatum; You are either with us or against us, make your choice and live (or not) with the consequences of your choice.

Take control, publicly hang anyone inside the ISI who is a known collaborator in addition to government officials, institute elections and then leave with the message that if they screw it up again, leave them with McArthur’s promise of; We will return.

re: can’t imagine why Imamobama allows it to continue

That bugs me too. It's so out of character for him. Those attacks are very accurate and are just about the only thing he's done that would upset or harm adherents to the ‘religion of peace.”

The only thing I can think of is that those who are being attacked and killed or injured are of a different sect of Islam than Obama. The only thing a lot of Muslims hate more than the West are Muslims who don't believe as they do. The figure there's kinda some sort of excuse for Westerners to not be strict adherents to their particular sect, but there's absolutely no excuse for those from their own society.

In a weird sort of way if that were the reason he's allowing this it would be even more of an indication that he, at least his heart, is Muslim. If he were not he would just laugh at the constant in-fighting of Muslims, but if in his heart he is one of them it would bother him.

I know it's a stretch, but it's the only thing I can come up with that makes sense for his almost total hand's off, get-us-the-hell-out-here approach, to that part of the world.

How much intel are we not getting by killing them before we can interogate them? Oh, wait. BHO killed the CIA interrogation progam on Day One.

Update!

Second US drone strike kills four militants in NW

MIRANSHAH: A second US missile strike targeting a vehicle travelling in Pakistan’s lawless tribal belt near the Afghan border killed four militants on Saturday, officials said.

The attack took place in Inzarkas village, around two kilometres from the scene of an earlier drone strike on Saturday, some 45 kilometres west of Miranshah, the main town in the North Waziristan (NW) tribal district.

“The US drone fired two missiles and targeted a vehicle. Four militants have been killed,” a security official in the area said.

An intelligence official in Miranshah also confirmed the attack and death toll. – AFP

Update part II

US drone strikes kill 18 in NW

MIRANSHAH: Three US drone attacks killed 18 people in North Waziristan on Saturday, intelligence officials said.

The United States has widened pilotless drone aircraft missile strikes against al Qaeda-linked militants in Pakistan's northwest, with 21 attacks in September alone, the highest number in a single month on record.

On Saturday, three drone attacks within hours of each other killed 18 in Datta Khel town in North Waziristan tribal region, intelligence officials said.

"In the first attack two missiles were fired at a house and in the second attack four missiles targeted a house and a vehicle, while the third strike targeted another vehicle in the same area. The death toll in the three attacks reached 18," said one intelligence official.

Three attacks within seven hours have killed 18 with fears that the toll may increase.

....How much intel are we not getting by killing them before we can interogate them?.....

Think on that statement a minute.

They are dead because the drone pilots knew where they were at a specific time. The knew because they has good knowledge of the dead guy’s movements. Capturing them causes a lot of problems with the left. The best course is to continue to rely on the obviously very good intelligence we have and kill every one we can justifiably kill.

I favor killing them all and hope the rest of them are living in fear of death from above.

Couple of things are happening. Taliban and AQ types are being captured in Afghanistan and elsewhere. So some intel is being gleaned from those guys.

I also suspect that new tools has been put to use.

One is the Gorgon Stare

Air Force to Unleash ‘Gorgon Stare’ on Squirting Insurgents

Another, more capable tool is the ARGUS-IS.

Special Forces’ Gigapixel Flying Spy Sees All

Say we hit Abdul's house and kill 5 guys. The word has to go out somehow that Abdul's house was hit. Telephone, radio, messenger , smoke signals, whatever. We have them under a microscope. When something moves we can track it. The prospects are analized , processed, identified, selected, targeted and fired on.

I’m all about killing them as well. But I wonder if there is something to gain from keeping them alive long enough to “persuade” them to spill what they know that could protect our troops or the rest of us.

Of course, the point is probably moot, since BHO stripped interrogation authority away from the CIA & gave it to Holder.
