“What we need in America is an open, just, accountable society. We must hold all government responsible,” Mondale said.”
Yes Walter, it’s called the Tea Party movement. Are you a supporter?
Such liberal modesty!
Walter, part of the party that promised trillions of dollars of entitlements that will destroy our country since we can’t afford any of them.
So, how about an admission that you helped create the problem?
Liberals brought it on, Walter. Greed, hypocrisy, in-your-face tactics, PC, biased media, tax, tax, tax and spend, reverse racism/sexism, embracing immorality/homosexuality, public “education” failures, crime, thugs, pandering, head-in-the-sand view re terrorism . .
Need I go on?
Mondale said off stage after his nomination acceptance speech, “listen to them cheer, we’re going to tax their asses off”.
The dems were real accountable and open on health care reform - right? He lamented that Americans' trust in government is being squandered by big business money that is "bending decisions to its will
If government was relatively impotent then big business would not waste its money lobbying congress. The libtards set up oppressive government regulations then they speak out of both sides of their mouth about big business- they bemoan the "influence that BB has, but they love being showered with all the attention from BB.
People like Mondale spent their life trying to strengthen the power of federal government to make society "more just" and what they have done is polarize society in the process. This process of using government as a moral club is the polarizing issue.
Paradoxically, I remember his ‘84 concession speech for its graciousness.
That being said, I wouldn't trust him with actual political power. His mind is still trapped in the FDR to 1960 era. He doesn't think what liberals did during that time is wrong. He only thinks they failed because they weren't allowed to do enough of it. But unlike the thugs running the show now, he was honest about what he believed and willing to defend it. That's why he is the only man in history to lose elections in all 50 states.
I remember his 84 concession speech for its graciousness.......................... Did he have a choice? 49 states voted for Reagan. It was almost a total wipe out. Had he won, Ceck Point Charlie and the Berlin wall would probably still be there today.
nice epitaph.
He’s still alive?
Nothing that can’t be fixed by raising taxes, right, Walter????
Mondale and that ilk were behind all the 1960s and 1970s government activism that caused the unintended consequences were are reaping today......
Can someone please tell me when American politics has not been polarized?
Just try to fire a federal employee...
Walt you are a big part of the Problem, now just take your stink and leave.
Nobody knows how to connect with the American people like Fritz Mondale.
Definitely a unifier...
Mondale makes a good point. This was a better country when we were less polarized and all aligned against him and liberal policies.
