What if they gave a rally and only a few people showed up
American Thinker ^ | 10/03/2010 | Ethel Fenig

The One Nation Working Together rally sure has a tiny population. As the AP so delicately phrased it, reporting on the rally's attendance, merely "thousands of people"--not tens or hundreds of thousands as with the descriptions of Glenn Beck's rally last month--punctuated with "sparse groups," roused themselves to the nation's capital, despite free bus rides and that ever popular free lunch offered by the unions and other rally organizers.

John Avlon of the Daily Beast admits that compared to the Beck rally

Yes, the music was better and the crowd more diverse, but this rally provided plenty of evidence the Wingnuts on the loony left are alive and well.

(snip)

A pregame rally south of the Washington Monument featured drum circles and papier maché puppets. President Obama was called an "imperialist president" who was insensitive to the "African community" and "the 2.5 million people in concentration camps called prisons."

"We recognize that the U.S. government is waging the same kind of war-a counterinsurgency," warned the woman on the makeshift stage "that it is waging against the people of Afghanistan-against the people of the African community right here inside the U.S."

(snip)

Signs from the group A.N.S.W.E.R.-Act Now to Stop War and End Racism-dotted the crowd more than any other. Presumably, the attendees didn't know that this anodyne message came from the group that held an "anti-war and anti-racist rally" less than two weeks after the attacks of September 11th. This is the reflexive left, always indulging a blame America first impulse that creates a stereotype that is used to discredit mainstream Democrats.

And good for Avlon for finally mentioning the outright bigotry infecting large and major segments the anti war, pro union, supposedly anti racist left.

The curious and relatively recent migration of anti-Semitism to the left was evident in signs that read "End All U.S. Aid to the Racist State of Israel" and "Fund Jobs, Not Israel." I cringed as these marchers crowded past a group of World War II vets from Columbus, Ohio, being wheeled to their war memorial as part of the excellent "Honor Flight" program.

(Not so curious and only recent to those who haven't studied leftist words and actions for the past 150 years or so. The USSR and its international usefully evil idiots are a major example.)

Today's protesters, uhm, ralliers, or really spoiled brats no matter their age, left behind piles of garbage for others, presumably union garbage people, to clean up. Oh sure, they did it deliberately to guarantee these laborers would have work unlike the selfish Beck attendees who cleaned up after themselves leaving behind virtually no trash.

Onwards to the Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert rallies to end the month which should at least be goofy fun.

How do you have a good rally when many of the people there were ORDERED to attend. That negates the entire purpose of the rally to join people who 'BELIEVE' in the purpose of the rally and NOT people there because the union boss or the US head of some Dept or other ASKED, ORDERED or highly suggested that their employees attend. Who even knows if certain people were bribed to be there-with lunch provided, transportation provided, perhaps PAY provided, whatever.

It was a joke-as all rallys sponsored the the communists and socialists and homosexuals usually are. Sick stuff.

The Union Bosses have had billions of taxpayer dollars funneled their way and they can’t even purchase a decent sized rent-a-crowd. I’m guessing that the few thousand people that showed up consisted of the low paid employees of the various unions and Marxist shell groups who were forced to go by their clueless Bosses without receiving overtime pay to pretend to support the preening speakers.

This rally was a huge bust. I am increasingly sure of it. I watched the turnout carefully and it was clear they did not have a good crowd - now I feel confident they had a terrible turnout. Been watching the media’s spin today and there is just no way for them to spin this in a positive way. The hilarious thing is Ed Schultz claimed he could turn out 300k.

One Nation Rally = epic fail

Who cares about who showed up and how many? This means nothing. Who shows up in November is what counts.

What if they gave a rally and only a few people showed up?

If it was a liberal really - the MSM would use tricks to make it look like a lot of people showed up.

If it was a conservative rally, the MSM would do their best to play up how pathetic the rally was...

And still, the MSM wonders why no one trusts them...

Folks, if you think the Tea Party/Conservative dudes & gals were motivated before that failed rally yesterday, wait to you see the response come election day, November 2, 2010. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you have a choice, the “Obama freeloaders and greedy, no nothing labor unions or Freedom to make your own decision for you and your families”!!! Looking at that rally it was attended and populated by the Obama dregs & vermin of society, unionized teachers, communists, socialists, Democrats, left-wingers, Black racists, America haters, etc. If that is want you want for your kids, your grandkids, and all American kids yet to come, then go right ahead and vote for your own doom.

The idea here was to set the stage that we have had rallies from the crazies on both sides.

Prepare yourselves for the Great Comedian sanity rally, sanity meaning support Obama, on October 30th.

They will make jokes that target the Tea party folks as kooks and they will also target the commies, even though they agree with them, as kooks.

But by golly, here we are standing here for that great “moderate” yuck and lies. Barack Hussein Obama! All Hail mmm mmm mmm! Sanity is restored and was planned from day 1.

One question. Is this the first wave? Will they all be there for the Jon Stewart rally plus whatever the comedian and Obama can draw? Maybe they think it will be a one two knockout punch. I wouldn’t be surprised by such a devious followup plan right before the election.

I keep hoping that a few truly clueless libs - the “everybody work for the rainbow of perfect humanity” libs - look around some time and see the outspoken Jew haters and outspoken Christian haters and just the outspoken haters - and realize that they don’t belong there.

I remember long ago, at a cool punk party, listening to some one go on and on about how they hate Christmas. And I said to myself, this is ridiculous. How can anyone hate Christmas? I don’t belong here.

And I didn’t. Those were not my friends. They were not my people.

I knew Unitarians like that - they loved EVERY religion - no matter how silly - EXCEPT Christianity. It got tiresome - and, like you - I realized they were not my people...

Biden drew only 285 people in Nebraska a day or so before this rally.

I hardly consider it a ‘rally’ when union members are ordered to attend & the union is paying for their transportation.
