Romanias job insecurity and a drop in the quality of life has brought forth a wave of nostalgia for the Communist period. The majority of Romanians have neutral or favourable views on Communism, according to a pole by the Institute of Investigating Communist Crimes (IICCMER) and CSOP. 46 per cent of Romanians polled have a favourable view of Communism and five per cent a neutral view. Around 49 per cent of Romanians believe that life was much better in the country before 1989. However most Romanians believe it is necessary to set up a Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Communism and a National Museum of Communist Dictators in Romania.

To some a “job” for life and no anxiety is OK, especially since that’s the only system they have ever known.

Ya mean they’re just like us, and an Obomba could get elected there?
To: citizenredstater9271
Well, it’s been 20 years now so a lot of respondents were are too young to remember what life under the old regime was like. Kind of like the nostalgia a lot of Canadians feel for Pierre Trudeau- most of his admirers weren’t yet born while he was wrecking our country.

It’s scary. Over here, we think that one Jimmy Carter will be enough to scare people out of voting for Democrats for all time. Then we think Bill Clinton’s perversion and perjury might do it. Then we look abroad and see how people can be nostalgic for the mass murderers who used to run their country—just because they provided “jobs” in some miserable little state store or some gray prison of a bureaucracy.
Never expect a majority of your fellow Americans to be aflame with a desire for liberty. It is the business of a minority to fight for it, against the smaller minority of thugs and killers (like Obama) who want to take it away.

I spent a full summer (2004) in Romania and have had several visits since then.
One has to remember that the country is not only poor, but full of Romas.
I doubt that their life is any different from one regime to another.

Our neighbor risked his life every summer to bring smuggled bibles into Ceauşescu's Romania. I was in absolute awe of what he did. You would never have known it looking at him. Small, unassuming guy, polite to a fault.

“My good friends from Romania who risked their necks to flee from Ceausescu will hate to read this.”
In my post I stated “I doubt that their life is any different from one regime to another.”
I meant to imply that is for the Romas.
The Romanian people are quite nice, and deserve the same as
any country in central Europe.
The Romas are invading all the countries of central Europe.

Dracula and Communism both have one thing in common: Both were Romanian blood-suckers who brought nothing but death.
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

After what they went through? Sometimes I think people are just too stupid to deserve to live. 50 million here vote for Mullah Zero. Half in Romania favor Communism. Sometimes I think the giant asteroid is the best thing for us.

You are right, but if this election cycle doesn't go as well as many think it will, many in our country are close to their own tipping points. Obama knows this and everything being done since he got into office was to push them over.
These times may be more of a danger than we have been noticing. Sort of fits his plan and he HAS many of his loyal cadre in place already.

Just that their press has them all worked up... to feel the anger, maybe even desperation. Now even if they are not that different than before. Rules for radicals and all that.
