'Whoosh' sound of wind turbines too loud for some
MSNBC ^ | October 5, 2010 | Tom Zeller Jr.

VINALHAVEN, Maine — Like nearly all of the residents on this island in Penobscot Bay, Art Lindgren and his wife, Cheryl, celebrated the arrival of three giant wind turbines late last year. That was before they were turned on.

“In the first 10 minutes, our jaws dropped to the ground,” Mr. Lindgren said. “Nobody in the area could believe it. They were so loud.”

Lawsuits and complaints about turbine noise, vibrations and subsequent lost property value have cropped up in Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Massachusetts, among other states. In one case in DeKalb County, Ill., at least 38 families have sued to have 100 turbines removed from a wind farm there. A judge rejected a motion to dismiss the case in June.

Like the Lindgrens, many of the people complaining the loudest are reluctant converts to the antiwind movement.

“The quality of life that we came here for was quiet,” Mrs. Lindgren said. “You don’t live in a place where you have to take an hour-and-15-minute ferry ride to live next to an industrial park. And that’s where we are right now.”

Wind turbines cause noise pollution.

Ironic, the greenies big idea to eliminate one kind of pollution causes another kind of pollution.

Picture an Earth where every open space is covered in wind turbines. Each on extracting every Newton of force it can from the prevailing winds..... taken to the extreme, wind forces, at least over land masses, is depleted. What kind of climate impact does that bring? Worth thinking about.

If all of humanity were dead our cities completely gone and every trace of our race extinguished I’m sure they’d still find something to bitch about (yes when we go they certainly don’t plan too). Probably complain about the horrible doses of evil radiation and light pollution the sun blasts out every second. Save the Earth put ouf the sun!

Too bad the grey ponytail crowd has a phobia against nuclear power. They could have their carbon-free power and peace and quiet also.

But I’ll bet good money that every last one of them voted for the Democrats and donated to them.

So, to them I say “here’s your sign!” IDIOTS

Lower property values equals lower property taxes.

“Lower property values equals lower property taxes.”

Great now Obama will say wind farms generate lower taxes.

And wait until a flock of birds flies through/near them. Dead birds will litter the area and cause the turbines to malfunction. And what if an endangered bird is killed by the turbines who will the libtard/envio-cultist gov. go after?

And it isn’t even winter in Maine yet. Wait until the turbines go kaput due to cold weather, just ask Minnesota.

Wind turbines-Another demorat/libtard/enviro-cult failure that we are left paying for.

We’re missing a good bet here.
The shredded poultry downstream could be fed to the starving victims of the Baraqqi Depression.
