'Moderate' Islam's PR nightmare

Faisal Shahzad had one last moment in the spotlight yesterday before being shipped off to a lifetime behind bars for his attempt to explode a car bomb in Times Square last May.

Not surprisingly, he took full advantage of his soapbox and captive audience.

"Brace yourselves," he warned, "because the war with Muslims has just begun. Consider me the first droplet of the flood that will follow. The defeat of the US is imminent and will happen in [the] near future."

First droplet?

Sorry, Faisal, but that war started on Sept. 11, 2001.

And most New Yorkers get it.

Still, Shahzad now will have a long time to pursue his perverse fantasies of America's demise.

While he rots away in prison.

"We are proud terrorists, and we will keep on terrorizing you," the Pakistani-born immigrant told Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum. "If I'm given 1,000 lives, I will sacrifice them all for the life of Allah."

Dream on, buddy. Better off dropping the visions of glory and start considering how truly tedious life on the slow boat to martyrdom is going to be.

Shahzad claimed that, in rigging a car with explosives in the heart of the theater district -- after receiving training and money from the Pakistani Taliban -- he was acting in accordance with the Koran, which "gives us the right to defend, and that's what I'm doing."

There were millions of Moderate Germans during WWII, making guns,bullets, grenades and tanks. They never intended to shoot anyone. They were, indeed, moderates.

These poor German moderates ended up being bombed into ruin. Never stand between Americans and a radical and claim your a moderate. It doesn't fly here.

Perhaps, but there are TENS OF MILLIONS of our liberal countrymen who are wracked by guilt. That guilt drives these people to want to accomodate, even surrender to, this evil. To them, a mosque at Ground Zero makes perfect sense, both logically and morally.

Americans know the problem , we know about Islam, our problem is that our leader and Kenyan President is either clueless to the Muslim problem or he is a part of that problem.

There is no such thing as moderate Islam, anymore than there is a moderate Catholicism.

There are however Muslim and Catholics alike who do not follow the tenets of their respective religions.

Have you ever heard the term "Moderate Catholic"? How about a lapsed Catholic or a non-practicing Catholic?

What possible psychosis drives us to delineate that which cannot be delineated?

I hate to admit it, but from my perspective it is like a black comedy watching American continue to get punked by this good cop-bad cop game that Muslims continue to play in the West. They help perpetuate the myth that you have made up in your own minds, but each one of them plays their respective roles.
