Hillary Clinton 'could be running mate for 2012'
London Telegraph (U.K.) ^ | October 6, 2010 | Alex Spillius

Posted on 10/06/2010 9:59:58 AM PDT by Schnucki

Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, could swap jobs with Joe Biden, the vice-president, in time for the 2012 presidential election, according to Bob Woodward, the author and veteran reporter.

The move would see Mrs Clinton become Barack Obama's running mate, setting her up for a potential run at the presidency in 2016, while Mr Biden would get the post he has craved since before he was chosen as the president's deputy.

With the Democratic Party facing a rout at next month's midterm Congressional elections and Mr Obama likely to face a struggle to stay in office, rumours of the switch have been circulating Washington for months.

But the notion has been given added credibility by Mr Woodward, one of the Watergate reporters who brought down Richard Nixon.

He has enjoyed unprecedented access to the White House and a variety of government officials in the course of researching his new book on the internal debates about the war in Afghanistan.

He told CNN that "some of Hillary Clinton's advisers see it as a real possibility in 2012".

"President Obama needs some of the women, Latinos, retirees that she did so well with during the [2008] primaries and, so they switch jobs, not out of the question, and the other interesting question is, Hillary Clinton could run in her own right in 2016 and be younger than Ronald Reagan when he was elected president."

Doubters asserted that the speculation was the product of feverish Washington insider gossip. They argued that there was a great difference between Mrs Clinton's advisers seeing a possible switch and what Mr Obama's advisers thought.

That’s her best hope to fulfill her ultimate ambition. And it just might improve Hussein’s chances as well.I think we’d be wise to pray that this doesn’t happen....for several reasons.

Question: If Joe Byden were found guilty of something and removed from office, what is the process to replace him?

Hussein nominates and the House and/or the Senate "confirms"....I think. Can't exactly recall how it worked with Ford.

Then she can run in the primaries in 2012 as the rational middle path between GOP "obstructionism" and Obama's failed policies.

Never happen...for several reasons. In the RAT Party, race trumps gender. The only type of challenger that could trump Hussein in '12 is a black woman because she'd be a double victim.

The nomination is his in '12 if he wants it...and he'll want it *regardless* of how low his numbers are.And I think we all know him well enough to know *why* that's true.

So If Bidin gets caught after January and Obama loses the House and Senate there could be a fine battle.

Hey on second thought after reading your post that is not to far fetched IMO.

If you have been following that blog posted here of the mystery insider leaking the mood of the WH you know the insider has been saying Obama is really depressed and is taking pharma’s.

So right there is the he was depressed alibi.

I think the proper phrase is "draw a cartoon".

This actually happened fairly recently with Spiro Agnew, Richard Nixon’s vice president, resigned from office. Richard Nixon then appointed Gerald Ford as Agnew’s replacement.

Hillary went out of to state she was a far left progressive in the 2008 presidential primary. She did a thesis in college on Saul Alinsky who she then credited with being an inspirational figure. When she lost the primary she supported Obama. Case Closed. Hillaty is Obama lite. For one thing she might be even lefter than Bill Clinton. And Bill was bad enough. The problem with the far out left is they hide and lie and pretend to be people they are not. But the true colors come out anyways. So you can’t trust them.

This would be BO’s only way to keep her from mounting a direct challenge to his renomination. ANd I don’t think her ego would let her play second fiddle to him and he would be afraid of arkancide.

So if Hillary replaced Biden then she could take out Obama and become president without being elected.

I figured that she wanted the top spot. I also believe that she cannot win.

She will not be the VP candidate but will be the Presidential candidate. Obama will not be running in 2012.

Why should she want to play ‘second fiddle’ to BHO when she can travel all over the world and be treated like a queen by other countries?
