Nothing further yet. Just a one line headline from AP.
The wheels on the bus go thump thump thump.
Maybe he agrees with the claims that the latest security alert was 100% political and doesn’t want to be a part of this crap.
I wonder how many rank and file Dems are noticing all these bodies at the side of the road and wondering what’s going on with this administration.
Molly Henneburg did not add much to the story.
Just breaking: Resignation effective in TWO WEEKS!
That seems pretty quick for a position that high.
I agree.....administrative assistants give two weeks notice...
His mouthwash no longer works on the level of excrement sandwiches he is forced to eat daily.
Look at the bright side, Dukakus is going to don the helmet and declare himself the new Natiuonal Security Advisor./sarc
KT McFarland thinks it might have something to do with the Woodward book. Or at least what’s reported in it.
I’m glad to see him go.
Or maybe he sees some event likely, and doesn't want to be the one blamed over Obama doing nothing to stop it.
Smart folks working for this abnormal Administration will be leaving in droves (unless they believe at this Socialist President does)...
In all seriousness, is this number of defections this early not unprecedented for a POTUS?
Obama set himself up for failure by promising what even a popular two term president would have a hard time delivering.
Setting unrealistic expectations is a dangerous thing.

Gen. Jones is going to be a star witness for the prosecution.
BREAKING — Gen. James Jones is resigning as President Obama’s national security adviser. Tom Donilon, the deputy national security adviser, will replace him, a senior administration official tells POLITICO.
Jones’s resignation will take effect in two weeks. Obama will make an announcement in the Rose Garden Friday afternoon. — Glenn Thrush and Carol E. Lee (10:05 a.m.)
By "smart" I hope you mean those who can read the writing on the wall. None of them are "smart" in a economic or security sense. Romer left because she couldn't figure out why her economic theories didn't work............
He doesn’t like the October suprise.
On radio, analyst is saying, Obama consider national security as political equation not “Security” , That is the reason for this resignation.
But the schedule was accelerated, and in recent weeks White House staff had been increasingly critical of General Jones for statements that he apparently made to Bob Woodward, the author of Obamas Wars, an account of the internal decision making on policy Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Mr. Donilon began as young political operative for President Jimmy Carter and later was chief of staff for Secretary of State Warren Christopher in the Clinton administration.
Thanks, Starwise, for the article.
Huh. Couldn't tell it...
Welcome .. ;)
This is not good news. As a former Commandant of the Marine Corps and Supreme Allied Commander of Europe, General Jones could have easily taken a coushy job at a major corporation and raked in the bucks. Instead, he took this job because I believe he thought he still had something to offer to serve the country he loves and help win this war on Islamo Fascism.
If he’s resigning, that means he can’t do anything to influence this bozo to actually win these wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Tensions often turned personal. National security adviser James L. Jones privately referred to Obama’s political aides as “the water bugs,” the “Politburo,” the “Mafia,” or the “campaign set.” Petraeus, who felt shut out by the new administration, told an aide that he considered the president’s senior adviser David Axelrod to be “a complete spin doctor.”
During a flight in May, after a glass of wine, Petraeus told his own staffers that the administration was “[expletive] with the wrong guy.” Gates was tempted to walk out of an Oval Office meeting after being offended by comments made by deputy national security adviser Thomas E. Donilon about a general not named in the book.
Suspicion lingered among some from the 2008 presidential campaign as well. When Obama floated the idea of naming Clinton to a high-profile post, Axelrod asked him, “How could you trust Hillary?”
Hmmm Two week notice? Not telegraphed a head of time? Something IS going on!
Still, First Lady Michelle Obama sent out a plaintive if blunt e-mail appeal the other day — for her husband’s campaign outfit.
And now Michelle Obama’s mother’s son-in-law has followed suit with a money plea — again, for his own campaign outfit.
“I need you in the game,” he cries.
Then the pitch: The president would like a measly little $3 donation, more if you prefer.
Thanks to an unidentified “fellow grass-roots supporter,” the Democrat says, that donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar. That means, in case your calculator has choked on all those digits in the deficit, “your $3 donation will become $6.”
And then the politician who relentlessly pushed healthcare last year ignoring polls saying the economy was America’s overwhelming concern, makes a surprising confession:
“I didn’t run for president because I wanted to do what would make me popular.”
That part, at least, has worked like a charm.
Jim Jones spit out the Kool-Aid!
Tom Donilon will replace Gen. Jones in two weeks. He was a registered lobbyist from 1999 through 2005, and his sole client was Fannie Mae.
HOPE & CHANGE LOFL!
Finally noticed the “Fall Guy” sticker on his back... when Americans are asked to “absorb” another terrorist attack.
Maybe he agrees with the claims that the latest security alert was 100% political and doesnt want to be a part of this crap.
Or, as 0bama recently said “We can absorb another attack”.
This bastard 0bama is going to get a lot of Americans killed.
Ha! I was thinking the Wheels on the bus are coming off, off, off!
Hardly an encouraging resume....
I don’t see your point.
Well, that bodes well for future success.
I guess, if you are of a generous mind, you could say he wanted to continue serving his country...
but I think he picked the wrong administration and they used him as window dressing...and he let them.
Actually, I mean SMART... Anyone who actually thinks that he/she is working for the Administration is probably like minded or stupid. The politically smart folks will be leaving in a hurry... of course, they need to be watched carefully, after all, they seemed to think that they would succeed here... I’d say, they should be banned from any public office in the future - but that is just me...
In the Liberal world, failure is a resume enhancement.............
Hindenburg called in Bruening and told him to resign.
I heard this on Fox - recall that Jones was quoted in Woodward’s book calling Axelrod the ultimate “spindoctor.”
Goodbye, General Jones.
Heh... Way too true!
Couple of beauties:
“President Barack Obama blasted opposition fund-raisers at a campaign rally Thursday, charging that they solicited foreign donations and pumped the millions of dollars they received into congressional races.”
HOW MANY UNVERIFIED, ILLEGAL JILLIONS CAME INTO HIS CAMPAIGN FROM THE GAZA STRIP, ARAB NATIONS, ETC. ??????
Man Heckles Obama In Maryland: “You’re A Liar”
As the Boss says, ‘rebellion is brewing.’
Well good for him! He had too cool a voice for that position.

Watch Jones' next move carefully. It could be very telling.
