If you recall during the 2008 scampaign, they moved audience members in and out of their seats so as to portray the “right” balance of different ethnicities (get me an asian...).
Plus don’t want a bunch of freaky looking code pink gals up there. Go to a casting agency, just like any good reality show would do.
