I don’t agree at all but I wonder why after bush capitulated to the anti illegal immigration crowd and illegal immigration has not only fallen but lead millions to return to Mexico why we are not presently living in a utopia.
I am also curious why Reagan is not vilified and hated by faux conservatives for actually doing amnesty which bush never did.
The congress was essentially handed over to dems in 2006 because you were so right. I want to pencil in the utopia date.
He was a good president in many respects, However he lost me on 3 major issues:
Medicare expansion into prescription drugs
Not vetoing Campaign finance reform
Pushing for TARP and using part of the money to save the auto companies from a proper bankruptcy were the final straws.
He also shares in responsibility for not stemming the flood of illegal immigrants into the country.
You forgot Satan.
I think you might be right on the first two but I think he was quite good on tarp.
No one knows that he
Spent less than half the allocated funds
Required they pay back the funds
Pay back with interest
These funds have been paid back.
Obama did the car companies not bush.
Even on tarp bush demonstrated unprecedented fiscal conservatism.
Yup, W had to essentially fight a 2 front war, the enemies abroad and the anti-americans back home.
He essentially had to accommodate the enemies at home in order to free himself up enough to pursue the war abroad, including defending himself. I can’t really blame him for most of what he did.
I think his short speech to the rescue and construction workers at WTC in New York City shortly after the attack will eventually go down in American history as a defining moment.
BTW: Did that well-known elitist, Ronald Reagan, reduce the size of the federal government?
I certainly wouldn’t refer to Reagan as an “elitist”,
and he did reduce the size of the fedgov,
something Bush did the opposite of with the expanded medicare Rx drug program.
I was going to post something similar. I was vehemently against his Amnesty plan, yet when I read his quotes in this article, it reminded me how much of a gentleman he is/was compared to the loser who took his place.
“Even those of us who didn’t always agree with you miss you so much now Mr. President. You are one of the most honorable men ever to seat in the Oval Office.”
Ditto to that a thousand times.
I just hope that he’s enjoying this chapter in his life.
—Bush is a patriot that loves his country and served with honor.
—Obama is white hating filth, that is hell bent on destroying our country. There is no honor within that poor excuse for a man, none.
Depends on how you view elites. Elites in the entertainment industry really aren’t elites in the respect that they are the same as say, Russia’s elites, or China’s elites. We use the word elite to include people who don’t measure up.
It may take some time for many to accept it but it was really of the import of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.
His speech to Congress 9/20/01 was one of the greatest I have ever heard.
I’m with you.
No one would accuse George W. Bush of being the brightest guy in the world, but he was certainly a decent fellow.

Bush was far more of a big government POTUS (like his dad - I voted for both) than Ronnie. Ronnie was a transformative POTUS with a strong Libertarian streak. Both loved America, but they had different visions. The Bushes believed that government could solve problems. Ronnie believed that PEOPLE solved problems.
The longer Obama is in the better Bush looks to everyone!
0bama gets to be considered brilliant why? Bush is considered not so smart because? Nice job mainstream media.
