The Democrats' Latest Talking Point
American Thinker ^ | 10/8/10 | Chidike Okeem

Posted on 10/08/2010 4:13:23 PM PDT by 198ml

Democrats recently have embraced a talking point at obvious variance with reality to explain away their massive unpopularity with voters. Since the Democrats ran the perfunctory "Blame Bush!" talking point into the ground by the persistent recitation of it in television studios for the better part of two years, the DNC realized it was time to manufacture another stock liberal argument, one that hasn't been repeated ad nauseam.Yet.

As parroted by mainstream media liberals, Obama's administration and congressional Democrats are struggling with the public because they are inarticulate, goes the narrative. We are supposed to believe that they are defined by the voice of the Republicans and that they don't know how to talk up their own legislative "successes" -- whereas the Republicans are supposedly "experts" at talking.

Maybe its because nobody trusts him. The OBOTS can’t even explain why he doesn’t cough up the bumpy Birth Certificate in public. Here is where I have been fighting them today, and lookit at them run and dodge in the comments:

Wonderful article on Democrats, the KKK, and revisionist history.

Agreed. Brilliant segue from the leftist media's bogus claim of Dem inarticulateness in the present day to their tradition of glib historical revisionism. And it should carry all the more punch because it is written by a black man of Nigerian origin, Chidike Okeem.

We'll look forward to more of of Mr. Okeem's keen political and historical insight in the future.

“that they don’t know how to talk up their own legislative “successes” “

Epic Wrong! Americans don't need dems to talk up their legislative successes. We know all about them: the dirty way they were achieved, the stupid provisions making the economy fall off a cliff, the effectiveness council(death panel), and the arrogant way they ignored us and passed all the crap we were opposed to.

As far as I am concerned, Congress and their progeny should be the ones who have to pay taxes to pay off the national debt - not the rest of America.

By the way, if Pubbies knew how to articulate and frame an issue correctly, the stupid Marxists would never have come to power.

Unfortunately, contemporary conservatism (heavily Jeffersonian with Hamiltonian having moved Left) and the contemporary Republican Party (which does indeed include many old Southern Democrats) have been turned against their own political ancestors. Today's Republican Party dare not go back beyond opposition to the New Deal in celebrating its identity.

A FReeper once pointed out that 2004 was the 150th anniversary of the Republican Party and would have been a terrific opportunity to celebrate the Republican heritage. But many conservatives and Republican have truly come to believe that the first Republicans were indeed the "liberal Democrats of their day" and didn't dare say a thing.

Abraham Lincoln did not violate the Constitution a single time prior to an unprecedented Civil War. The Deep South seceded merely because he had been elected and didn't even wait for him to be inaugurated. And Lincoln was not going to interfere with slavery, as they well knew. But being Democrats they had a hissy fit and left the Union rather than merely allow a Republican to occupy the White House.

Sound familiar?
