WASHINGTON, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 7,000 events are planned in 188 countries for this Sunday's Global Work Party, a day of action coordinated by 350.org to push politicians to take action on climate change.
There are more than 400 work parties planned across California, a broad show of support for clean energy solutions in advance of a contentious election.
"Politicians may still be debating climate change, but citizens are getting to work solving it," said Bill McKibben, renowned environmental author and founder of 350.org
"I'm tired of sitting around and watching politicians argue," said Actress Ellen Page, who sent a video endorsing the day. "It's time for them to stop talking and start doing."
"Just a week ago, there were 100 events in the state--now that number has exploded, to 400, making October 10 the most widespread day of rallies of this election season. Climate change continues to be an issue that motivates widespread action from Californians. In contrast, the tea party has joined the Yes on 23 campaign--but so far, only 8 events have taken place." May Boeve, US Campaign Director, 350.org

I wonder how all the people in California got to the events? I imagine everyone of them drove there in a car powered by evil oil.
LOL trying to live up to their own hype.
Sorry kids, I think Earth Hour has you beat.
These people may be funky hippie types, but they are are not to be taken lightly. They are using the environment as an excuse to enslave the world under collectivism.
Keep in mind that these folks believe that the ideal world population is half a billion. And they’re willing to do whatever it takes to get us there.
I don’t take them lightly, and you are right. Environmentalism is a cult disease and a path to socialism. These events are for green zombies who are desperate to drink the liberal kool aid because they can’t form an analysis on their own. They claim to want to “save the planet”, yet most of them have no grasp of earth science.
Global Work Party
Geez...could they sound more totalitarian communist?
We have 5 flatscreen tvs, and 4 computers cranked right now.....some of them are actually being used.
Take a deep breath, enjoy the movement, and pay for the right to exhale.
After all, God resides somewhere on earth.
I wondered what expertise Ellen brought to the table. An actor/actress is someone whose primary talent is believable bodily and facial expression and the ability to mouth someone else’s words.
Don’t know that Page has many scientific degrees.
That’s funny... because I am willing to do “whatever it takes” to STOP them. (You may use your imagination.)
I’ve been burning styrofoam peanuts and plastic oil jugs all day . Threw on some old carpet and some creosote soaked railroad ties for a nice colorful blaze and a deep thick billowing smoke seen for miles.
This 350 stuff is nonsense. And, yes, Al Gore does back it.
I spent today working on really old cars with no catalytic converters, so they’ll be running well into the 21st century. None get over 12 mpg either. If I had more spare time, maybe I should have gone hunting for whales.....
I had a Bakon Vodka Bloody Mary at 10/10/10 @ 10:10.10 this morning, went to my Volunteer Fire Department Clambake, but before I could, I helped direct traffic at an awful traffic accident for 2 hours....
I hope I contributed something to my fellow man today besides creating more hot air screaming socialist propaganda.
This explains the 100 pieces of drying laundry outside the student union at Northwestern University today. Wow, their carbon footprint dropped infinitesimally today. I hope they made up for it when they all bought organic Jamba juice smoothies made in electric blenders in the union afterwards.
How is an “event” action??
Maybe they were referring to the press release as action?
Sears and Kyocera sponsored this and the 10.10 campaign produced the exploding kids video too
