Obama is losing it
The Hill ^ | October 11, 2010 | John Feehery

If you are an American and you travel anywhere in the world in an official capacity, one of your first meetings is likely to be with the local American Chamber of Commerce.

Meeting with AmChams (as they are called) is an essential way to get a better understanding of how American businesses are doing in selling American products overseas. Members of AmChams (who are usually American) have an acute understanding of the local laws, the obstacles that foreign governments often place in the way of trade and the opportunities that exist for further investment.

AmChams are the tip of the spear when it comes to international trade. And without international trade, American business can’t grow. And if American businesses don’t grow, jobs don’t get created back here in the United States of America.

When President Obama talks about the supposed foreign influence that has infiltrated the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, he is talking about dues that are being paid by these AmChams back to the Chamber.

His argument is complete nonsense. It smacks of McCarthyism. The argument itself is delusional, and it makes me wonder if the president has taken leave of his senses.

Worse for the president, by attacking the Chamber of Commerce in such a violent way, he reveals his hatred for the private sector, which only serves to rile up his opponents even more.

The Chamber of Commerce is not an arm of the Republican Party. For example, it supported the president’s stimulus package. It supported the auto bailout. It supported the small-business loan program that the president signed last month.

The business of the Chamber is to support business, not support the Republican Party. But the Chamber finds itself supporting many more Republican candidates this election cycle because so many Democrats have taken an avowedly anti-business turn to the left, led by President Obama.

The Chamber has no choice, because the Democrats, with their agenda of higher taxes, more regulation, more litigation and more powerful labor unions, are seeking to Hugo Chavez the private sector.

The charge that comes from the president that shadowy groups may have an undue influence on this election is especially hypocritical, given that Obama won because of the influence of George Soros and his compadres.

We know that Soros and his friends in 2006 and 2008 spent hundreds of millions of dollars funding radical, left-wing groups like ThinkProgress and the Center for American Progress (ThinkProgress is the group that made the initial charges against the Chamber). These groups didn’t — and don’t — divulge their donors, but I didn’t hear Obama complain about them once during his campaign for president.

The president’s latest attack on the Chamber of Commerce shows one thing conclusively. He is losing it. And his team is going to lose the elections badly in less than four weeks.

Not to make too fine a point if it, but you’ve got to have it before you can lose it.

Losing it? Hell, he’s already lost it. May not have had anything to begin with. ;)

People really need to research their candidates instead of going with catch phrases and optimism.
People were trying to warn of this guy before he got to office, but they didn’t listen.
....And here we are.

For the dems asking Obama to step down would be admitting they were wrong. And progressives never admit they were wrong. Also it would mean disenfranchising the black vote. They can't do that and expect to win.

Instead they will ask him to do the LBJ. Announce that he is not running and go golfing for the next two years. That way Obama gets a two year vacation and the Dems get a free run at the nomination.

I think it’s closer to Leninism and as with all Elitist Dictatorial Pigs use a form of public show trial propaganda to get their message out! Given her age, it would be plausible if MO announced she was pregnant. BHO could then proclaim he is stepping down for the good of the baby and his two other children. If MO is *not* pregnant, a miscarriage could then be solemnly announced a few months later. Disclaimer : Just another scenario-I don’t really see the narcissistic affirmative action beneficiary doing this, or indeed choosing not to run for re election in 2012. To do so would be admitting failure, which to a person who has had everything (college admission, law school admission, editorship of HLR, state office, Lord knows what else) handed to him because of his melanin level is literally inconceivable.

I predict that next spring, some Dems. are going to pay him a visit and tell him to step down.

I came to that same conclusion some months ago.

The Democrats are about to be clobbered in a landslide of historic proportions, and it's Obama who has led them to that slaughter. But, it's much worse than that. Obama is leading the whole nation to collapse, and some of these Dems feel it in their bones, despite their rock-solid liberal conditioning.

I feel that even if congressional Dems don't actually make a back room deal with him, that they will do everything they can to undermine him in the coming year, which may actually force him to exit the presidency.

They're already going to lose the White House in 2012, but they'll also become a super minority in Congress by then, if Obama is still presiding.

I really think there's a Democrat mutiny coming.

What about Obama’s receiving contributions from Rafa, Gaza?

How has the FEC investigated these abuses that occured in 2008. I bet it’s been swept under Obummer’s rug. Saul Alinsky 101 accuse the other side of the same things your doing so that it makes them look like they are guilty and you are innocent.

http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2008/10/tens-of-millions-of-obama-donations.html

The FEC has compiled a separate database of potentially questionable overseas donations [to the Obama campaign] that contains more than 11,500 contributions totaling $33.8 million. More than 520 listed their “state” as “IR,” often an abbreviation for Iran. Another 63 listed it as “UK,” the United Kingdom.

More than 1,400 of the overseas entries clearly were U.S. diplomats or military personnel, who gave an APO address overseas. Their total contributions came to just $201,680. But others came from places as far afield as Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa, Beijing, Fallujah, Florence, Italy, and a wide selection of towns and cities in France.

Until recently, the Obama Web site allowed a contributor to select the country where he resided from the entire membership of the United Nations, including such friendly places as North Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Unlike McCain’s or Sen. Hillary Clinton’s online donation pages, the Obama site did not ask for proof of citizenship until just recently....

In July and August, the head of the Nigeria’s stock market held a series of pro-Obama fundraisers in Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city. The events attracted local Nigerian business owners. At one event, a table for eight at one fundraising dinner went for $16,800. Nigerian press reports claimed sponsors raked in an estimated $900,000. The sponsors said the fundraisers were held to help Nigerians attend the Democratic convention in Denver. But the Nigerian press expressed skepticism of that claim, and the Nigerian public anti-fraud commission is now investigating the matter.

In June, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi gave a public speech praising Obama, claiming foreign nationals were donating to his campaign. “All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man,” the Libyan leader said. “They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency...”

[O]n July 31 that donors from the Gaza strip had contributed $33,000 to the Obama campaign through bulk purchases of T-shirts they had shipped to Gaza.... A pair of Palestinian brothers named Hosam and Monir Edwan contributed more than $31,300 to the Obama campaign in October and November 2007, FEC records show. Their largesse attracted the attention of the FEC almost immediately. In an April 15, 2008, report that examined the Obama campaign’s year-end figures for 2007, the FEC asked that some of these contributions be reassigned. The Obama camp complied sluggishly, prompting a more detailed admonishment form the FEC on July 30. The Edwan brothers listed their address as “GA,” as in Georgia, although they entered “Gaza” or “Rafah Refugee camp” as their city of residence on most of the online contribution forms.... The latest Obama campaign filing shows that $891.11 still has not been refunded to the Edwan brothers, despite repeated FEC warnings and campaign claims that all the money was refunded in December.

A ...review of the Obama campaign finance filings found that the FEC had asked for the redesignation or refund of 53,828 donations, totaling just under $30 million.

But none involves the donors who never appear in the Obama campaign reports, which the [Center for Responsive Politics] estimates at nearly half the $426.8 million the Obama campaign has raised to date.

Almost 50% of the electorate still approve of his job performance. I am not sure I follow your reasoning. The dems will never be a super minority, whatever that means. If you caught every democrat in the US in the very act of child abuse they would still get 33% of the vote.

The argument itself is delusional, and it makes me wonder if the president has taken leave of his senses.

I never thought he had any to begin with, but what has happened is that he has consolidated his power and he feels that he can simply go for broke and say whatever crosses his mind. He's angry and he's vengeful because people are rejecting him - the article mentioned Soros, but even Soros has said he is going to "sit out" this election. And if you've lost a leftist radical like Soros, you've got to be way out on the fringe.

The problem is that Obama still has the power. I suspect things will only get worse, because people have been too slow to awaken. We couldn't believe a lunatic had taken over our country...via an election.

Well in these admittedly fanciful scenarios, the dipwad-in-chief isn’t the one who chooses to step down - the men in the grey coats pay him a visit one night and tell him that the decision has already been made and he just needs to get with the program. But all of us are just spinning suspense thriller plots - nobody knows how this will all play out. The reality, of course, is that the car finally caught up with the car he was chasing and now hasn’t the slightest clue about what to do. Nor do the people driving the car have a clue either :)

When a normal human being comes up against an immovable object like reality, he/she recognizes the error of his way, adjusts his thinking accordingly, and moves on a wiser person.

When a narcissist like Obama has a collision with reality, he blames reality and anyone who accepts it as valid...and thereby remains stuck in his self-absorbed ignorance.

It is Obama's narcissism that has enabled him to cling to such a thoroughly disproved and discredited notion as socialism.

Obama has at long last come to a personal end game in his losing battle with reality. He is under attack from all directions.

He must either admit defeat and have a breakdown...and start down the long road to therapeutic recovery OR completely disconnect from reality by entering some kind of dissociative fugue.

Assuming windflier means the dems would have <= 40 senators after 2012 to give the GOP a filibuster-proof majority that’s not an outlandish thought. If we get to near 50 in 2010 there’s enough seats in play for 2012 that it may happen if political conditions don’t improve for the dems

Dems are only about 1/3 of the country’s registered voters. Self-described liberals are about 20% compared to 40% for self-described conservatives. And those liberals are concentrated in their enclaves. If each right-leaning state elected two conservative senators we’d have our bloc of 66 senators, enough to override a veto.

Our problem is when dems and rinos lie about their intentions to get elected. But everything is out in the open now and sides are formed.
