I once tested as having the reading level of a college freshman and the vocabulary of a high school senior. Why could I just test out in that area and then worry about my maths and science for the next so many years that I’m in high school? As for the delinquents, they should be the ones in special ed, not kids who are mental. Or at least they should be subjected to corporal punishment. SOMETHING to get them in line and ensure they stay in line. No more ‘putting up with it’ for victimized students. No more treating school as a stomping ground.
The smart students should be able to study in peace and I am sure a lot of bright students have been failing because they are nervous wrecks because the scum bullies are able to get away with it.
Where I live, the special education umbrella includes the delinquents as well as the mentally retarded. Mentally retarded kids are designated as “life skills” students. The other special ed students simply have learning or behavior disorders. They are typically placed in the regular classroom unless their behavior is too severe. The below linked article is a summary of the problems created by this.
