Last night’s “Parker-Spitzer” saw the lowest numbers yet for the program and the show did little to help the one that followed on the schedule — “Larry King Live” which had its worst numbers in more than 10 years.
In its sixth outing, “Parker-Spitzer” drew 311,000 Total Viewers and 86,000 A25-54 viewers. That’s lower than the previous low for the time period set by Campbell Brown earlier this year. (332,000 / 87,000). Last week, Parker-Spitzer finished fourth in the time period averaging 465,000 Total Viewers and 124,000 A25-54.
At 9pmET, “Larry King Live” put up its lowest A25-54 demo viewership since July 2000, averaging just 63,000 viewers in the demo (and a paltry 196,000 Total Viewers). King’s guest for the hour was Afghan president Hamid Karzai.
King announced he is stepping down from his show later this year. Piers Morgan will take over the timeslot early next year.

Spitzer was creepy even before the Client #9 thing. Now he’s beyond creepy. What were the CNN idiots thinking?

311,000 viewers? I didn’t know we had that many airports on the planet. Maybe they threw in a few doctor’s and dentist’s offices.

Who on CNN isn’t a perv? Anderson Cooper is flaming. Larry King is on his eighth wife, although he is supposed to be having sex with her sister.

If a show is a total ratings disaster, right out of the gate, how long do the suits at CNN allow it to go on to develop an audience? It seems like America has voted NO! on watching a disgraced former governor tell his opinion on anything. I don’t suppose CNN would ever consider a conservative man of character like, say, Bill Bennett. No, he’d be opposed to abortion, couldn’t have that discussion.
I’d be willing to bet that Bennett/Parker would have drawn at least double the audience this fiasco drew in the first week.
There should be a new sign - “We voted against elites in the booth and buy truning off the Nightly News”

Does anyone think Larry King will keel over the minute his final show ends? I swear he’s been dead for a decade and just didn’t know it.
