McMahon Calls Out Blumenthal In Final Debate And Wins Going Away
http://radioviceonline.com/ ^ | October 13,2010 | Jim Vicevich

The subheading on this one should be “Shhhhhhhhhhhh”. Feisty crowd, feisty McMahon and a Blumenthal who pretty much put me to sleep. But there were some classic moments, as you’ll see.

I’ll have another post later but here’s a quick recap. Right out of the gate Blumenthal was asked one more time about how jobs were created. A little more lucid this time but government is still the answer. McMahon’s retort, and I’m paraphrasing … nice to know you’ve been working on your answer Mr Blumenthal.

But I think the best was saved for last. As you’ll hear Blumenthal lights the fuse when he claims he can’t be bought by the special interest campaign contributions he’s taken. “The people of Connecticut know me.” It was all Linda needed to hear … Paraphrasing, “Indeed they do.” It was off to the races for everyone including the crowd.

i think if you do the math, it takes 13.8 average private sector jobs to pay the salary of one average government job. that doesn’t factor in things like the costs of benifits, etc., merely the salary.
so if Dickie-poo wants to create government jobs, he’d better have a plan for creating 13.8 times as many private sector jobs to support them.

Anyone else notice Blumenthal’s “Jimmy Carter” smile? And just how full of himself is this clown? Talking about all the great things he supposedly did? Who does he think he is?

I served in the United States Air Force from 1970-1974. I was stateside for the entire four years, as an electronics instructor at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS. I am a proud veteran who served during wartime, but would never dishonor the brave men who fought in Viet Nam by claiming to be a “Viet Nam” veteran, or by describing my experiences after I “returned from Viet Nam.” Blumenthal would never get my vote, even if he were closer to Reagan than Obama politically. Lies about combat service are an automatic deal breaker. (John Kerry, please take note.)

He’s downright creepy.

Imagine being at a family gathering, and there in the corner sits "Uncle Dick." Would you want your children getting anywhere near him?

The 'Rat-libs do it all the time. It makes me crazy when I see panels of libs and conservatives on TV news shows and whenever a conservative commentator is talking or making a point, you see the libs on the panel making childish gestures like shaking their heads, rolling their eyes, smirking, snorting, snickering, basically acting like a-holes (Ellis Henican on FOX is particularly annoying with this). Bunch of smug bastards, the lot of them.

The man is 64, but he has that Leona Helmsley/botox look. He would be the Riddler to Obama's Joker.

I like how she stayed on message. The message being he’s not to be trusted. She’s smart enough to realize that this election has turned into a referendum on him and his credibility. Even his answers are constantly defending his own ideas and beliefs. That’s not a good sign to always be on the defensive. From this clip, it appears to me that she was getting the better of the debate.

She’s a good campaigner and if she was in a purple or red state, I think she would be winning this going away. As it is, shes in a blue state and is in the fight. My hats off to you Linda, you’re as tough as anyone!

I agree. She has been an amazing candidate and has run one of the best—if not the best—campaigns this season. Especially for someone who is new to politics. She still has an uphill fight but I will be very happy if she wins.

I don’t know if they have any more debates. However, if they do and he starts dissing the WWE, if I were her I would turn to him and pull out the statistics of how many people from Conneticut are employed by the WWE and how much corporate tax money they pay to the state. Then ask him how many jobs he’s personally created or how much any of his businesses have paid in state taxes.

Also, I thought she missed an opportunity in that clip when he was talking about fighting battles for green energy. She went back to his credibility but she could have made the same point by pointing out that he is fantasizing about fighting battles again. That may be too mean, I don’t know. But I think it would have gotten the point across in a humorous way and then she could have had more time to address the issue of energy.

Ms McMahon needs to use this interview in her campaign (if she's not already).

This is Glenn Beck interviewing Blumenthal after he decided to go after the legal bonuses received by AIG executives. Glenn repeatedly asks Blumenthal to cite which law was broken that allowed the state to sue for legally paid, Congress approved bonuses.

Blumenthal has got to be one of the slimiest politicians I have seen in a long time. He stammers for 5 minutes but is never able to justify his actions.

The guy is a complete sleazeball.
