Obama: Republicans Will Have to Learn to Get Along With Me

President Obama reveals in a magazine article that he is weighing what to do if Republicans win the House majority next month, and has come up with a novel approach: Make the GOP work with him.
In a seeming twist on the post-1994 midterm calculation made by President Bill Clinton -- when Republicans pummeled Democrats in the congressional election -- Obama said he thinks Republicans will have to move in his direction no matter the outcome of the Nov. 2 vote.
"It may be that regardless of what happens after this election, they feel more responsible," he is quoted saying in the Sunday edition of The New York Times Magazine, "either because they didn't do as well as they anticipated, and so the strategy of just saying no to everything and sitting on the sidelines and throwing bombs didn't work for them, or they did reasonably well, in which case the American people are going to be looking to them to offer serious proposals and work with me in a serious way."
Accusing the public of mistaking his abilities, the president also told the magazine that he's a little taken aback that voters are disappointed with the current turn of events in his administration.
"The mythology has emerged somehow that we ran this flawless campaign, I never made a mistake, that we were master communicators, everything worked in lockstep," Obama is quoted saying.

That bastard’s arrogance boggles the mind. Obongo ignored the Republicans in his quest to push his agenda down our throats by lies, bribes, threats, etc. and now he says that WE have to learn to get along with him. FUBO!
He is the architect of the destruction of his own party and he’s getting pissy with the people who are going to run a political romp all over his community organizing a$$. It’s always about him. Just once, it would be nice if it was about what’s good for the country instead of his own selfish ambitions.
Say no to every liberal/socialist/DNC/RINO proposal he makes and turn over every one he has made so far.
Let him know straight up, that to do NO BUSINESS is better than to do ANY OF HIS BUSINESS....period full stop.
Then send him, again, and again, and again measures that turn over his stimulus, health care, and anything else he "accomplished" in the 1st two years until 2012 if necessary when an even stronger, veto proof majority is obtained (if it is not done this time) and we get a conservative in the White House.
Nope. I think I can divine his strategery, such as it is. He intends to provoke repeated 1995-style government shutdown confrontations with the Republicans and rely on the MSM to dutifully manipulate public opinion against them and demonize and whip the Republican leadership into submission just like under Clinton. He also expects the surviving dems to loyally play the game of mindless obstructionism that the dems did during the Bush years.
Of course there are a few holes in this strategy, among them the fact that Bill Clinton was likeable and indelibly associated with good times in the public mind. During the Bush years, especially after Iraq started to go South, the dems were confident that anything bad that happened to America would automatically be good for them. Furthermore, Obama assumes that the media will faithfully do his bidding no matter how reviled he becomes.
Lastly, Obama ALSO assumes that the dems on Capitol Hill will remain loyal and obedient to his every whim no matter what that has cost them.
To put it mildly, I don’t think so.
If the dems do decide to turn on him, I’m pretty sure it won’t be necessary to dig up the necessary evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors. Probably if the House demands a thorough investigation of his birth certificate (plucking the issue from the much-derided crackpots) and other matters from his past it will turn up all sorts of goodies that will have him scurrying to resign rather than cough up the facts.
