Daily Presidential Tracking Poll: down to -19 and sinking
Rasmussen Reports ^

Posted on 10/15/2010 6:51:06 AM PDT by DadOfFive

Friday, October 15, 2010 Email to a Friend Advertisement The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-six percent (46%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19 (see trends).

The housing market’s woes are starkly highlighted by new polling data showing that just 52% of American adults now believe buying a home is the best investment a family can make. Earlier data showed that more homeowners expect the value of their home to go down rather than increase over the coming year.

Good news going into the weekend. This is getting to be “crazy time” for polling... anyone notice a Marshall University poll released today that shows Manchin at +10 in WVa? Meanwhile Ras released one covering exactly the same time frame showing Raese +3.

I don’t buy Scot’s numbers. Last week he was -10. Too much fluctuation. Seen it as low as -21 from him.
Should be -85 at least.

I don’t give a lot of credence to this poll. I have seen Obama go down to -24 and then the next day he’s back up to -13. Both, not good, but the swings seem rather large. Wonder what the Strongly Approve percentage would be if he didn’t have that 90-95% Black vote approval?

I like it. The more Obozo hits the trail and profusely lies, the more he tanks.

The democrat lies? People are onto them. Problem is, they have to lie because nobody would want what they have in mind for them.

Marshal University Poll? Who did it? Their Political Science Professors? Probably polled 80% Dem. voters.

Too much fluctuation.

An Asian guy walks into the New York City currency exchange with 2000 yen and walks out with $72. Next week he walks in with 2000 yen and gets $66. He asks the lady why he gets less money this week than last week. The lady says "Fluctuations". The Asian guy storms out, and just before slamming the door, turns around and says: "Fluc you Amelicans too!"

The trend is not good. Look at an average - like a simple moving average of say 6 weeks - to smooth out the bumps and you easily see that the trend for Zer0 is not good.

On any given day any given sample may have outliers. Averaging is one way to take out the volatility of the numbers without losing big picture accuracy.

Yeah, I’ve seen that number before, until it went back up to -10 just a few days ago. This tracking poll is all over the place.

I believe a lot of people are outright lying to pollsters just for the chaos it creates!.............

Saw that poll and have my suspicions about it. Notice that it still had Manchin below 50% with some large number of undecideds.

If this truly turns out to be a wave election, I think the main thing to look for in the lead up is whether Democrats can cross 50%. Those who can't are probably in trouble. There are a lot of Dems in this category including the likes of Boxer, Murray, Reid, Manchin, etc - those could all end up as GOP wins.

The real question is whether this will infact turn out to be a major wave type election - and if so, how big.

Marshal University Poll? Who did it?

From RCP:

Marshall Univ/Orion Strategies (D) 10/11 - 10/12 450 LV 48 38 Manchin +10

Orion, like PPP, is a Dem outfit. I'm not giving them credibility; just noting their numbers at a wide divergence from everyone else.

It's about time he gets back down where WE think he belongs.

Maybe the fact that the media is starting to jump on him a little helps.

And maybe the fact that he admits that there actually were no "shovel ready" jobs. He's actually NOT infallible! (actually he was lying)

And maybe the fact the even Bawney Fwank is admitting that he was "wrong" (lying) about Sallie and Freddie.

And, of course, Joe Biden is still playing the fool. (His brain is so scrambled, he doesn't even remember how to tell the truth.)

MAYBE the public and even some of the radical dems are starting to realize the suit REALLY IS empty.

Now that I've said that, he will go to -9 tomorrow since the Wookie is helping him or for some other stupid reason.

Again with the same thoughts. We have to be related. Or in parallel time-space continua.

I heard it as “Fluc you white people!”

I have to agree, especially since this is a 3-day moving average, which ought to smooth the spikes and radical swings from day to day.

Maybe he needs a larger sample size?
