Stubbornly high unemployment -- nearly 15% for those ages 20-24 -- has made finding a job nearly impossible. And without a job, there's nowhere for these young adults to go but back to their old bedrooms, curfews and chore charts. Meet the boomerangers.

I wonder how many if these students got actual, useful degrees. These days, getting certifications is where it’s important. A degree should no longer be primary.
I graduated in 2002 and moved back home with mom. Work wasn’t falling into my lap, so I worked for a family member for a few months until I found a contract job.
This statistic is nothing new. I don’t personally know many college grads who go right into a full-time job after college unless they’re engineers or educators.
Look on the bright side - at least the Obama-induced Depression will promote greater unity of the family.
Talk your kids into getting useful degrees. Nobody wants a greenhorn with a useless liberal arts degree. Those are only good for community organizing.
I wonder if Obama is King of the youth anymore, the educated ones.
It was the college crowd that LOVED Obama the most!

How’s that “hope” and “change” FEELING NOW?
I had a full time job, but it paid so little (actually less than I made my senior year IN college) that I couldn’t afford to move out for a year.
Not all of them voted for Jarjar. My cousin didnt vote for O, but most his graduating class did, so he was sort of a pariah in the Kool Aid circles. His software engineering degree combined with encryption certification has already landed him a good job...but his other friends in English Lit, they’re FKD.
Two of mine moved back home. One was out of the house 11 years. Her student loans topped 75K and found it difficult to pay her rent. She brought two cats with her too! Lucky me! PS none of my children voted for Obama.
There's another story that is directly related to this one: The number of college grads moving back to their Grandparent's homes. Why? Because mom and dad already have - that home is gone.
I would love to know their majors.
And how many in the 20-24 years old age group voted for Obama?......
Well to be fair, 85 percent of college kids did not vote for Obama. My kid has lots of conservative friends in college, and many are at home living with parents, just like the “liberal” kids that voted for Obama.
Thankfully, our son has a good job and is able to afford his own expenses, but he’d love to be sharing his home with a roommate to cut down on his expenses...only problem is, none of his friends, or acquaintances, make enough money to be able to afford it. I’ve been amazed at the number of grown guys living with their parents.
I’m glad he’s not living with us, but I guarantee, he’s more thrilled that he’s not living with us, LOL.
What’s an “encryption certification”?
well why not...they’re now all chillrun till age 26 courtesy Obummercare.
My 21-year-old daughter’s a college senior working 3 jobs. She lives at home, but can’t wait to get out into an apartment or have an adventure overseas. She pays (pretty close to) her share of insurance, etc. I’m confident she’ll fly when it’s time.
I was home for about a year before I moved into an apartment with a buddy of mine. Aside from a brief stint there before moving into my house, I never went back to the nest.
I already had a job lined up when I graduated and I went directly to it and an apartment.
It would have been unthinkable for me to live with my parents after graduation.
But those were different times, I guess.
