Veterans of Foreign Wars-PAC Endorses Bob Filner for Congress (Over Gunnypop Popaditch!!- SHAME)

Imperial, California - The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) PAC has announced its endorsement of Congressman Bob Filner over Republican Candidate Nick Popaditch for the 2010 General Election. The VFW-PAC becomes the most recent veterans group to endorse Congressman Filner.

“The VFW-PAC’s endorsement of Congressman Filner was based on his strong support for veterans, national security and defense, and military personnel issues,” said Salvatore J. Capirchio, Veterans of Foreign War-PAC Director. “My proudest service in Congress is being Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee. Veterans have made incredible sacrifices for our country and they should be able to depend on the health care and pensions promised by our Government!” said Congressman Filner.

There was a discussion of this on the local radio yesterday. Apparently this pac is not affiliated with or controlled by the VFW, and the VFW has been trying to get it to drop “VFW” from its name. But a formal request for this has to be voted on at their annual convention, which isn’t until next August. So this pac continues to makes these kinds of endorsements on which the actual VFW has no input.

PACs spend a lot of time and money grooming, wining and dining, lobbying, and ass-kissing whatever thug happens to be in office. They have a huge investment in them, and consequently tend to support incumbents. They'd hate to have to go through all that again with a new office-holder.

If you're interested in cleaning up Congress, most PACs are your enemy.
