He would have banned mining below 100 feet.
Boy, you have that right! Obama is a cold and unemotional man without empathy. IMO he is spiritually dead.
President Bush showed that he was a leader when he stood on top of the rubble at Ground Zero a few days after 9/11 and said. "I hear you, the World hears you"
I'd respectfully disagree with that. The first thing he personally did was go play golf...
I'm not sure - Didn't he shut down the entire US drilling industry before he teed off?
Don’t overlook the U.S. role in this. Codelco turned to Geotec Boyles Bros., a U.S.-Chilean company, to handle the “Plan B” escape shaft, one of three simultaneous drilling efforts that raced to reach the miners. They began simultaneously but “Plan B” was months ahead of reaching the miners and possibly saved their lives.
Geotec operations manager James Stefanic said he quickly assembled “a top of the line team” of drillers who are intimately familiar with the key equipment, including engineers from two Pennsylvania companies Schramm Inc., which makes the T130 drill, and Center Rock Inc., which makes the drill bits.
The Chilean President did not blame anyone?
But the Chilean president had the foresight and the wisdom to ask for help from the entire world, and he got it. Contrast that with Hussein's performance during the gulf oil spill. There were all kinds of skimming equipment on offer from Holland, Norway, Canada and many other countries. It was rejected. That's not leadership. That's the point I was making.
I totally agree with you!!
No, that took a while. It was after at least his 2nd or 3rd round if not even later. It had to be a month or more into the disaster. There may have been a vacation sandwiched in there somewhere as well...
How can Obama be a leader when he can’t “man up”?
You have to have the traits of a man to "man up". BHO has no such trait(s).
where’s the outrage from Olbermann? He chastized Bush for just giving up golf.. But when Obama hits the links daily even in a crisis, nothing but the chirping of crikets...
Great leadership moments in history:
1)Winston Churchill during WWII
2)Ronald Reagan during the Cold War
2)George W. Bush during 9/11
3)Sebastian Pinera during the Chilean Mine Crisis
