"There's an excitement about what this president is trying to do," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said about his predictions that Democrats will retain the House and Senate.
"We're the beneficiary of a lot of political real estate after 2006 and 2008 that haven't been held by Democrats for a long period of time," Gibbs said, seeming to hedge his bet.

This is Gibbs throwing in the towel.
In one brief statement he backhandedly admits that Obama is despised and that there is no way to spin Obama’s performance to improve its popularity.
It's true. If you or your neighbor is out of work, it's local.
If you lose or have your health insurance double, it's local.
If your business is drowning in regulation, it's local.
And when you go down to your local precinct to vote your Democrat Congressman out, it's local.
Nice try, Fat Boy, but America knows the truth (except for those few remaining Kool-Ade drinking loonies).

Did anyone else see Gibbs passing out his resume to the reporters? Guess a guy can’t start networking too early in this terrible Bush economy.
Fat Robert is trying to use the Jedi mind trick. Too bad he’s not a Jedi and the electrate isn’t a stupid as he thinks.
This tells me that they know huge losses are coming, he’s now in protect Obama mode and trying to set the stage for spinning that the loss in November is not a rejection of Obama.
According to insider WHers, Mooshelle has planned to dump him, effective within days or weeks.
