Why should we?

There is actually a compromise that would be a great improvement over what we normally get. Liberals want bigger government. Conservatives want smaller government. The compromise? No government growth.

Unfortunately, those in Washington seem to compromise by growing government at a slower rate.

Every time the democrats lose the majority they talk about bipartisanship. They never practice it when they are in control but it's the first thing they bring up when republicans gain the majority. The republicans will suffer the same fate as the democrats if they turn their back on the people who elected them and make nice with the democrats.

Can Democrats and Republicans work together after the election?

Of course. The formula is quite simple. Republicans cave to every RAT demand.

...AGAINST THOSE AWFUL TEA PARTY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!

No, they can’t. There’s another election coming and another 1/3 of the Senate will be making sure Tea Party voters are happy with them.

NO!!! I keep remembering when they based obamacare and all the Dems on the floor cheered and gloated...not caring that the people didn’t want it, didn’t care that the republicans stood there pissed and unhappy. They just cheered and jumped up and down...they didn’t care then about “working together”. they just wanted to pass their crap and ram it down everyones throats.

you can’t work with people when they don’t want to work with you.

I suggest only “working with them” on several things: making sure their handcuffs aren’t too tight, making sure their orange jumpsuits fit reasonable well and negotiating with them as to just how close to home their incarceration will be.

The only time a conservative should ever reach across the isle is to slap a liberal.
