Given the hostility that the DE Republican party has shown to the Christine O’Donnell candidacy, what will they do about the next primary in that state? Seems there is little reason to have one when nobody is supposed to run against the person who has been pre selected by the party. COD won the primary handily and that means to me that she has a lot of people in her state that want her to be their Senator. When she is slammed by other Republicans I take it that they do not think much of the voters who chose her over Castle. The aftermath of this traitorous behavior of a party against the citizen elected by the voters to represent them will not be pretty. It is not too late for the Republican party leadership to make sure they are not AWOL election nite. A loss for COD will be directly on their heads for deliberately sabotaging her campaign.

Rove turned out to be a shocking disappointment over the O’Donnell remarks. His strategy genius betrayed any heart, which may be what it takes to survive in inside politics, but the RNC, NSCC, etc., are for big corporate money alone.
Even if he was satisfied with a RINO in the hand, over the bird in the bush, he hurt her campaign in Delaware when he could have helped in words and deed.

Christine is doing the right thing by going after the establishment as I think that’ll sell even in DE. Also, she’s still doing well on the money raising front as she’s over that recent $1mm goal having raised over $100K in just the past 24 hours. I know DeMint’s group has also raised considerable cash for her campaign. Having said all that the NRSC is not on our side and should be shunned at every opportunity.

Does the GOP establishment intend to commit political suicide?

I no longer contribute to the RNC or RSC. Or to any national power hungry committees. I only contribute to indivudual constitutional brlieving candidates

The NRSC has provided her some political consultants and some money right after she was elected, so they are helping somewhat. Also various senators gave her some money.

It’s true that the NRSC is spending additional money on ads, but there’s only such much to go around and it’s probably better spent on other candidates who are much closer in the polls.

I meant to say, “It is true that the NRSC is _NOT_ spending additional money on ads [for her]...”

Maybe it hurts to say it, but the NRSC only has so much money and there are better places to spend it than O’Donnell’s race.

By several polls Murkoski has pulled even with Joe Miller. I’d rather see money help Miller.

Fiorina has pulled to within 1% of Boxer. Boxer is one of the worst Democrats in Congress. Fiorina has spent time with the Tea Parties in her state, which support her. Having a Republican in California would help a lot.

Kirk in Illinois is a RINO, but he’s also dead even with the party line Democrat in a fight for Obama’s old Senate seat.

Rove is a paid consultant for Castle, which is why he made those remarks. He worked for Castle before the election, then apparently kept working for him up until the time Castle decided to run as a write-in.

Seigfried, you missed a point. The NRSC chose the same time COD was thanking her supporters to announce they would not support her. It had nothing to do with amounts of money. The NRSC needs their clocks cleaned publicly, and put out of business. Their are real republicans ready to take the lead.

“The RNC did the same thing to Kathrine Harris when she ran for the senate against Bill Nelson in Florida. They never paid her back for any of the crap she went through for the 2000 BS That is why I support the candidate not the freakin’ party

I agree. Thieves extend more honor among their own than does the RNC.

Though I agree with you...
I’d like to point out to all that Coons is getting 15 times the money from the DSCC that O’Donnell is.
Coons got over $160,000 from the DSCC in each of the last two weeks. Over $635,000 so far.
Other big Dem donors are also sending him their dough.

Yes, O’Donnell is pulling Dem funds from those races!

” given her the max allowed”

In direct contributions, yes.

Committees can, however, spend unlimited amounts indirectly, IE: on ads.
That is what the Dems are doing for Coons.

No surprise...but then again, she has twice as much money as her opponent and doesn’t need them. She has more than enough resources to win this race on her own - lack of resources would be no excuse. She needs to utilize them effectively. This could work to her advantage as being an “outsider”, however, no part of any political machine...that could be a potential positive.

One of the main things keeping Joe Miller afloat right now is NRSC expenditures on his behalf - the Tea Party express even tapered their own advertising based on on the amount the NRSC is pumping in to support his campaign.

NRSC also seems to be spending a lot of time blasting Chris Coons in press releases.

There was also never any evidence of NRSC releasing such a statement that they would not support her during her speech. There was never a source cited for this other than some rumor a reporter heard and stated...it caused a firestorm, but was never verified. Some are starting to make arguments more characteristic of the left: Emotion based rather than fact based arguments. Granted, given their previous behavior in Florida with Crist, there was good reason to be suspicious, but it is best to verify.

Besides which, she has an ambundance of cash. Lack of resources is no excuse - she just needed to hire a good media company and let them have at it - and should have started immediately.

There’s plenty to criticize the NRSC for ... but we need to make sure it is legitimate.

A lot of people blame the “RNC” for everything from local political orgs to other campaign orgs that have no relation at all to the RNC.
