White GOP men stand out in early voting [early turnout in NC exceeds 2004 pres. election]

The largest group of early voters in North Carolina is made up of white Republican men, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Democracy North Carolina, a campaign watchdog group.

During the 2008 Democratic sweep, black Democratic women led all groups during the 17 days of early voting. But during the first three days of early voting this year, it is white Republican men.

"Early voting doesn't favor one party or another, but reveals who's most organized and enthusiastic about making their voices heard," said Bob Hall, director of Democracy North Carolina.

So far early voting has been especially heavy for a midterm election. In the first three days of voting, 72,173 people across the state have cast early ballots.

That's more than the 70,645 votes that had been cast at this point in the 2004 presidential elections. At the same point in 2006, 35,728 votes had been cast. By comparison 266,649 votes were cast during the first three days of 2008.

Makes one wonder what the agenda of this report is. Perhaps, the MSM wants to energize the black vote by pointing out that “evil” white men are voting in greater numbers in the early voting.

“ARE THEY COUNTING VOTES ALREADY?”

Dunno. They are counting how many people have voted early apparently. Don’t know if they are running their tallies. I would think not. But those votes can be tallied quickly on 11/2 or by whatever election law governs their count.

I voted last Thursday - the minute that it opened. There were 8 people ahead of me. Quite eager, we were.

Exactly. I’m half Italian, but my mom is fair skinned Italian - does that mean she’s white, or southern European (darker typically), and what does that make me ethnically? Of course the media have an interest in painting the GOP as a bunch of rich white men smoking cigars and no one else.

It is encouraging that the early turnout is heavy. According to the current polls, that favors the good men and women.

266,000 vs. avg of 55,000. Do you think there might have been just a hint of voter fraud here? Just saying...

I’ve never seen a “white” man.

I’ve seen men and women of varying shades of brown...
but no “white”.

Many of these same crackers voted to put Obama in office as POTUS however this will still be spun as racism by white voters.

Sure, there’s always an agenda with the propagandists. That’s a given. But unless places have motor voter regs, it won’t help them. Anyone know if NC has motor voter? I know in WA State, registration to vote deadline is well past (10/2).

So far this year, registered Democrats are edging out Republicans, 31,910 to 27,623. In 2008, by contrast, Democrats were swamping Republicans by 3 to 1.

The heaviest early voting is in Brunswick County where there are hot campaigns for Congress and state and local offices.

With 72,173 people across the state casting early ballots and about 59,000 voters being either registered Dem or Rep, the other 13,000 are independents, which could be good news for the Reps given how independents are breaking two to one for the Reps nationally.

“I’ve never seen a “white” man.”

Besides which, we know from physics white encompasses every color of the spectrum. So the demagogues are wrong again.

When you vote early, just as when you vote on the day, your name is checked in the voter rolls. They can look at the number of people who have voted and get a count. They don’t see who you voted for, but they can see that you voted.

They are allowed to report this because it is public record.

Italians from Northern Italy (Milan) are typically fair skinned and quite frequently have blue eyes.

What is their source for race? My voter registration does not list my race (HUMAN according to the census]. I am curious how they are guessing.

I doubt they are tallying the votes. That’s dangerous because of possible leaks. But counting the votes is probably a no-brainer. Ballots are usually sequentially numbered and handed out in order, at least by precinct. So knowing how many voted is a piece of cake.
