White GOP men stand out in early voting [early turnout in NC exceeds 2004 pres. election]

The largest group of early voters in North Carolina is made up of white Republican men, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Democracy North Carolina, a campaign watchdog group.

During the 2008 Democratic sweep, black Democratic women led all groups during the 17 days of early voting. But during the first three days of early voting this year, it is white Republican men.

"Early voting doesn't favor one party or another, but reveals who's most organized and enthusiastic about making their voices heard," said Bob Hall, director of Democracy North Carolina.

So far early voting has been especially heavy for a midterm election. In the first three days of voting, 72,173 people across the state have cast early ballots.

That's more than the 70,645 votes that had been cast at this point in the 2004 presidential elections. At the same point in 2006, 35,728 votes had been cast. By comparison 266,649 votes were cast during the first three days of 2008.

I’m betting the point is to set up the post election narrative that it was the white man that was so racist that he couldn’t stand 0bama being in power doing things for minorities and the little guy.

I’d make book on it if I gambled.

As you like. So do you know the answer, either way?

Nope, never heard of the guy, in fact!

Not necessarily, it’s easy to see who has already voted...I’d be more concerned if they WEREN’T keeping track of this.

I smell a bloodbath of apocolyptic proportions brewing.

Well I’ve never thought of Italians (or Greeks or Spaniards, etc) as anything but white, but who knows what the MSM would say?

I’ve never been to Lucca (although I’ve visited areas to its north and east), but my parents showed me pictures and it is a beautiful town (and region).

As for why Northern Italians frequently having blond hair and blue eyes, while Southern Italians are darker, Dennis Hopper’s character in “True Romance” had an explanation for the phenomenom . . . .

Even in Southern Italy, a significant minority (maybe 15% - 20%) have “light” eyes, gray, green, or blue. My grandfather was from Neapolitan stock and had grayish-hazel eyes, and was blonde as a child. And my great-great grandmother, born in either Bari or Calabria (records are fuzzy), was a redhead.

Yes, in fact, as a precinct chair, I find this most useful in being able to target calls to encourage folks to come out to vote. It's wasteful and annoying to call people who've already voted.

I on the other hand, am only half-Italian (other half is mostly Irish, Dutch, and German) and I’m slightly darker than my dad who is 100%. My mother is also rather pale.

Genetics is interesting!

I voted as well in NH. I’d encourage everybody who can to do so. I think the type of people described in this article are the “Enterprisers” described in the Pew Political Typology Study. If that is the case and if this trend continues, it may be a long bad night for the Left in this nation. Specific to North Carolina, it would be nice to see Draft Dodging Dave Price get sent packing (again).

...well, seeing as Trieste and environs were once part of Austria-Hungary, it’s no surprise many residents look mor like Austrians than they do Puglians...

Obambi’s power is going to be reduced markedly. I wonder how the Man-Child is going to handle that?

Good for Dallas.
Houston area polls are reporting a 3X turnout so far.

How about Lyon County? I don’t know how big that county is, but it used to be mostly rural. My Mom came from one of the small towns in that county, that town is Fernley. Although it has grown a lot in recent years, it is still small and at least partly rural.

One of the best scenes in moviedom, evah. Better even than the "Avenge Me!!" scene from Red Dawn. A classic.

With so many cowardly Republicans likely to win, why would Obama’s power be limited? They are Casper the Friendly Ghost Republicans.
