The Pentagon is instructing military recruiters to accept the applications of gays and lesbians who wish to join the military, but must inform potential recruits that a moratorium on "don't ask, don't tell" could be lifted at any moment.
The guidance issued to military recruits is consistent with the Defense Department's plans to abide by a federal judge's injunction on the 17-year ban on gays in the military. The Pentagon advised senior military leaders late last week not to ask service members or military applicants about their sexual orientation, to treat the rank and file with dignity and respect and maintain good order and discipline.

America! It's about
The Pentagon makes me sick. They gave in to this nonsense without a fight. Some left-wing activist federal judge is not the executive branch, nor is it Congress. The Pentagon should have, at least, made Obama order them to comply.
Extremely disappointing. Hopefully the recruiting sergeants will just find other reasons not to recruit them, although they’ll have to watch their backs.
I just read on NPR that gay activist groups will be sending enlistees to test whether or not the recruiters are complying.
This is disgusting....militant gays will now have a foothold in our military. I have one son already in, my 2nd son was due to go to MEPS in Nov. and be ready for OSUT in May. I will now implore him not to go!!! The military is not a social experiment.
I do not feel safe that way
effing gays are some of the most self centered people I have ever encountered
It is time for mass desertions of US solders. They did not sign up to be exposed to Gays. So it should be in there rights to leave.
I am in the military and would love for a quick way out. I have served 9 years and am quite frankly tired and fed up with it. I am looking at starting a business with a family owned russian ammunition manufacturing plant. If the business gets off the ground it will most definitely clash with my TS security clearance. Hopefully the military will allow early outs like they did when Clinton was president.
They should. This decision should fall under conscientious objector status.
If the military is no longer enforcing don’t ask don’t tell, does that mean the recruiters can now ask?
When it is put that way, I wonder how the liberals feel.
Just wait until the next Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco......the White House will probably order straight military recruiters to ride on floats, for PR purposes.
This may spark the return of the ‘blanket party’ - or worse.

And government paid long-term holidays at Fort Leavenworth for the partiers.
>>> It is time for mass desertions of US solders.
