"I always preferred Donna Reed to be my real mom." Oh, I'm so sorry!
My mom was a crappy housekeeper, but apart from that she WAS Donna Reed (with dark hair). Looked like her, talked like her, same mild temperament, never got angry.
I was six or seven when the show aired, and it never occurred to me that that was strange; ALL moms were like that, only some were blonde:

This past Saturday, Barbara Billingsley passed away at the age of 94. For those of you scratching your heads but acquainted with 1950s television, Billingsley played the ever-gracious and loving, hearth-and-home mother June Cleaver in the classic sitcom "Leave It to Beaver."Most of us remember her for this.

Back in the nineties Rush would occasionally refer to Clinton as Eddie Haskell.
More than once the REAL Eddie Haskell would call in and say, Hey Rush, I resent that! (Ken Osmond was a die-hard Dittohead).
I remember that! Ain’t that the coolest thing.

It was a time when the family was intact, the out-of-wedlock birthrate was low, and the biggest problems in school were chewing gum and running in the hallways. If your shirt tail was hanging out, you could also get in trouble...

For instance, what would happen to a black man who drove through the Cleavers neighborhood after dark?
Nothing would happen to him because it was patrolled by Reed and Malloy from Adam-12. One Adam 12, One Adam 12, see the man at 211 Pine Street. Little boy's head caught in fence.

Is that your mom? Gosh! She looks like Olivia De Havilland!

For instance, what would happen to a black man who drove through the Cleavers neighborhood after dark? And what would have happened to Mrs. Cleaver is she suddenly found herself lost in the middle of the black neighborhood? (Good thing she could speak Jive).

It was great unless you were black and living in the South.
And now blacks can have their own leave it to beaver culture. So what?

More kids who grew up on “Muppet Babies” shows will know her as the voice of ‘Nanny’.

For instance, what would happen to a black man who drove through the Cleavers neighborhood after dark? As long as he didn't make any trouble, he'd be left alone to go about his business. If he made trouble, the most likely result would be the police would be summoned.

It was a time when the family was intact, the out-of-wedlock birthrate was low, and the biggest problems in school were chewing gum and running in the hallways. The punks in the 60's and 70's popularized drug usage. Today we even have conservatives advocating illegal drugs. Even some kids in elementary school use drugs now. Look at the violence caused by drug usage.

Yep, I'm the little one on the left. Never thought of Olivia De Havilland! Some have said she looked like
Jeanne Crain though.
She also just passed last Feb. The "Greatest Generation" indeed....

"When I heard of her passing I was reminded of what a simpler time I was fortunate to grow up in. I was also reminded that since the 70s at least the left has been ridiculing shows like Leave it to Beaver and Father Knows Best and mockingly saying, "hey we can't go back to that time" I always wondered, why not? It seems that it's simple enough, stay married, respect your parents, do the right thing and when you stray, repent and pay the price. I did't realize that these values had an expiration date. Gee, the new moral code (which is basically no moral code) sure has made the world a better place hasn't it?
Post of the Day.
Don't forget, lefties seem to hear a voice inside them that screams, "BORING! BORING!" at the very thought of a virtuous existance, and they seem to fear boredom as if it were a fatal disease.
I think it's partially a maturity thing. Not every day is going to be an exciting adventure, and to a mature individual that's not a bad thing.

Oh, the horror of a white, English-speaking America, where children had 2 heterosexual parents, men went to work while women maintained the home, teachers were addressed as "M'am", the NRA taught gun safety to 6th grade classes, church is where you could find every family on Sunday, and criminals were inside prisons instead of official offices.
I'm so glad progressivism liberated us from that oppressive, imperialist nightmare.
If you'll excuse me, I have to to fill in my 1099 forms for the $601 worth of gold fillings in got in my teeth, and then go get my weekly beating from the local New Black Panther Office of Federal Reconciliation.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.
