Comical, especially the part about “look at how close it is to the bridge” when it was obviously a half mile behind the bridge. When it flies over even these CNN twits should have realized it was never close to the bridge at all. Idiots.....

Pretty cool. I think it was an optical illusion though.

I don't think the plane was nearly as close as the video makes it look.

But, having said that, if you didn't know an air show was going on, yeah, that would've freaked you out.

Normally, the Bay Area air traffic pattern is from the southeast (for San Jose, San Francisco, and Oakland). If the weather or winds change from their normal patterns, the route reverses and planes have to land from the northwest to southeast. I bet that's what happened here -- this plance was approaching SFO from the north and landed on runway 10 instead of runway 28.

Because it was PLANNED EVENT during an airshow. No big deal, just a flyover. Also, the place where they slowed the video down saying how close it was - it wasn’t close at all. It was probably still half a mile or more away from the bridge still making a turn. When you use a telephoto lens, it greatly compresses the apparent distance between objects.
