Women fear economic issues most this election
The Daily Caller ^ | 10/20/2010 | Amy Oliver Cooke

The top issues on the minds of Americans include the economy, jobs, “dissatisfaction” with government, the federal budget deficit, health care and immigration...

Based on polls and my experience, a majority of women fear our children will grow up to find a world with fewer opportunities — and where 10 percent unemployment is the norm. We fear that when our sons and daughters start working, most of their paychecks will be consumed by taxes used to pay the debts we incurred.

The women with whom I’ve spoken are outraged at how government recklessly spends our money. We care when government uses $181,406 of our money to study how cocaine enhances the sex drive of the Japanese quail; or $2.6 million to train Chinese prostitutes, in China, to drink responsibly; or $3.9 million to develop a sex education video game for kids. These may seem like inconsequential expenditures, but they represent disrespect for our money. Every dime government wastes is a dime less that we can use to raise and care for our children.

As of this writing, a child born in the United States owes more than $43,818 for his share of the national debt, which does not include the roughly $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities. If that child is born in Colorado, his debt burden, including state and local debt, is nearly $53,000. It’s fiscal child abuse, and responsible parents won’t stand for it anymore.

Silly you. Taxes won't be an issue as there will be so few jobs. Obama will house, feed, clothe, heal and educate us. He is the great provider and brilliant too.

“Obam-a, Obam-a knows best”. He talks to the experts.

At least we will be healthy when Obama provides our foods to us, and green with our housing.

I won’t make many friends among the women of FR for saying this, but I suspect the same women who, according to this article, hate spending a hundred grand on a coke project would scream in horror if we axed the Department of Education, or cut all of the touchy-feely programs that are bloating the budget. They want cuts in principle, but women went for Obama with all of his yap about making the oceans retreat and all that.

Obviously I don’t mean YOU, or all women. I do mean the women who are so worried about leaving a debt to our children—ask them where they’d cut, and 9 out of 10 times they’ll answer “Defense spending” first, and they’ll never say “social services.”

Send your kids to business school. A BA degree is toilet paper.

My letter to the editor was just printed in the paper and posted online. This was exactly my theme. It was about getting rid or our career politician Senator Wyden after 30 years of rising debt.

He took office the year my first son was born, the national debt was around 930 Billion, my infants son share $3,100. Now almost 30 his share of the debt is $44,000 with the current debt at 13.3 Trillion. I begged the mothers and grandmothers to stop the insanity and put term limits on this career politician.

Do you think they will listen to me here in Oregon?

Sure Women are concerned about economic issues..........

They damn well ought to be. But what they are REALLY concerned about is that hubby will come home and say “gee honey, I got laid off today”.

Well here’s the bad news... In the 1960s and 1970s NOW and other “women’s groups” demanded equal rights for women in the workplace and equal pay and more opportunities for women, etc... And guess what... they largely GOT IT. Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina are good examples. They both became very successful at large corps.

Ok, I think that’s all good... but.... now for the baaad news.

Women can’t now EVER be confident that dear hubby’s job is secure because the company may just decide to keep Mary Jane and sh!t can ol Joe. Now ol Joe is in a pickle because his wife....that USED to be the “career girl”.... heard her bio clock ticking and decided SHE wanted now to do the “stay at home mommy thing”. Ooops... buh bye lifestyle.

Now dear wife HAS to return to the workforce, but is looking for a job in just as crappy an economy as hubby.

NOT good........

This wasn’t a big problem in recessions past because they were shorter and layoffs tended to impact employees at lower levels more.

Now NOBODY’S lifestyle is safe. Everything has been turned upside down. THAT’S why women are worried.
