Anchorage municipal prosecutor Albert Patterson has decided not to file charges against Alaska Dispatch editor Tony Hopfinger or the security guards hired by the Miller campaign.
After careful review by the Municipal Prosecutors office of witness statements, police reports, and other materials relating to this incident, it has been determined that no criminal charges will be filed against any party, said Patterson in a statement.
Hopfinger had been handcuffed to a chair by security guards on Saturday afternoon, following a town hall meeting held by Republican senate candidate Joe Miller. Hopfinger had tried to question Miller, and had also shoved another man. He was released when police arrived at the school.
Hopfinger told the Anchorage Daily News that he had not yet made a decision on whether to file civil charges against the security guards. I think quite honestly my rights were violated. I didnt do anything wrong they started all this pushing business, he said.
Miller defended the security guards in two interviews on Monday.
Yeah, most people follow candidates into bathrooms, and start physically pushing people around whenever they want to have a conversation. Try that out in court...
If my name was Hopfinger, I think I’d change it.
Much ado about nothing.
But flogged on every TV station in Anchorage - including ‘breathless’ interviews
“HE did what???”
THe real laff is calling this toad (hopfinger) a reporter - he is a blogger - at best.
BTW google his name in relation to Palin and you might (not) be surprised....
The “journalist” is a libtard to the core.
