DALLAS – FBI officials who arrested a Jordanian man plotting to blow up a Dallas skyscraper offer a different portrayal of the apologetic young man who spoke politely to the judge during his two day sentencing hearing.
FBI officials told The Associated Press that 20-year-old Hosam Smadi believed he was committing an act on the scale of the September 11th attacks and would get away with it.
Agent Tom Petrowski says Smadi "intended to die" for Osama bin Laden.

Reading this, I can’t help but remember the quip that the most dangerous spot in America is between an FBI spokesman and a TV camera. Applaud it if you will in this case, but the FBI’s shameless lust for publicity is how we got, for instance, the Richard Jewell fiasco.
There are probably thousands of his type in the country — some day, one of them will be successful in his pledge. Yet, there are still people who claim that Islam is a ROP.
Why would you think he is a Muslim. The AP simply says he is Jordanian. Who are you to say he isn't an Amish Jordanian.??? Hunh?
