Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee rushed to the defense of political commentator Juan Williams on Thursday after he was fired by NPR for comments about Muslims.

Palin and Huckabee – both, like Williams, paid Fox News contributors – launched into the publicly funded radio network.

"NPR defends 1st Amendment Right, but will fire u if u exercise it," Palin tweeted. "Juan Williams: u got taste of Left's hypocrisy, they screwed up firing you."

First Palin defends Dr. Laura who criticized her in 2008 for taking the VP job claiming she could not be a good mother and now she defends of all people Juan Williams who has taken many opportunities to cheap-shot her.

Really unbelievable and so magnanimous. What a great lady!

When you have core beliefs and principles, these kind of things happen.

Sadly, I’ll bet Juan Williams will REALLY be nervous around Muslims now!

NPR will just say this is more evidence they did the right thing.

Caller to Beck earlier compared what Juan said with what Obama said about his grandma ... how about we fire him too?

What would the reaction of the left have been if Williams had said he got nervous about Catholic priests being around little boys? The left and comedians would have celebrated such comments.

But for him to say he’s nervous about Muslims on an airplane, these comments get him fired from an organization which prides itself on celebrating free speech????

Can’t wait to hear the liberal commentators on MSNBC, etc. give their spin on why it was proper to fire a long standing NPR commentator for expressing an opinion, for using his freedom of speech.

Libs too. Since they've issued a lefty fatwa against him.

Behead those who insult the PC Gods. LOL!

“The left and comedians would have celebrated such comments.”

And a whole bunch here would have been calling for his firing.

All depends on who’s ox, etc.

Gee, I can’t imagine Juan getting the ax when he is such a supporter of the leftist administration’s doctrine. Perhaps he’ll see the light. Naw, that’ll never happen.

Soros gave NPR $1.8 Million dollars to buy reporters. No wonder Juan was fred.

This is more about FOX than JW. NPR has been trying to get JW to stop appearing on FOX for years.

Comments or no, why wouldn't you be nervous around them?

Will Juan wake up or will he grovel at the feet of his Overlords?

It’ll take getting the ax HANDLE upside the head in order for him to see the light.

Perhaps, though, this will be “enough”.

Remember, a conservative is often a liberal mugged by reality.

Yes, she is a great lady, and one of the reasons is, she puts principle above personal, and that is why she is rightly defending Juan Williams in this particular case.

She may not like what someone has to say, but she defends it.

That is called a “True American”

Juan said he gets nervous when he sees people on the same plane as him wearing Muslim garb.

Me too. As a business traveler, I used to (note: past tense) stay in a major chain hotel near the Philly airport. After 9/11, I noticed that some of the reception clerks were wearing Muslim head scarfs. One time I arrived, one was in full Buhrka with her face covered. I cancelled my reservation and went to another hotel in the area.

Any leftist organization “screws up”

when it reveals its true self.

Leftism cannot survive unless it obfuscates what it is really about.
