Lying Bastards!!! USA Today reports "Early Voting Gives Edge to Dems," when the 'edge' is smaller than the Dem's voter registration leads.

In NC, Dems hav 12-point lead in voter registrations, yet lead by only 5 in early voting. But USA Today Reports it a Dem 'edge'

From another post on FR.

Florida Democrats had been proudly touting the fact that they were doing better in absentee voting requests then they had in 2006, but the Republican Party of Florida has its own stats that could spell doom for every Democrat on a statewide ballot this year.

RPOF says that, for the first time ever, they’ve won the first two days of early voting. And compared to 2008 (the year of Obama, when Dems outperformed Reps), Republicans are doing far better in absentee voting requests and returns. If true and the trend continues, Democrats have a dim future. Maybe governor candidate Alex Sink could squeak by Republican Rick Scott, in large part because she’d not running as a Democrat and she’s at times running away from President Obama. But the numbers suggest the Obama millstone will weigh her down as the red wave swamps Florida.

From RPOF:

Requested absentee ballots: Republicans lead by 228,930 – a 13.21% lead over Democrats. In 2008, Republicans had an 8.89% lead by Election Day. Then, President Obama only won by 2.8 percentage points after a massive ad blitz.

Voted absentee ballots: Republicans lead by 112,534 absentee votes – a 21.88% lead. In 2008, Republicans had a 10.8% lead on Election Day.

Early Voted: Republicans lead by 15,281 votes – a 11.32% lead (Monday and Tuesday). In 2008, Republicans were losing by 73,384 votes at this point in 2008. By Election Day, Republicans had lost the Early Vote by 23.97%.

“We don’t expect to win early voting, but any lead at all is shocking at this point and a testament to the incredible enthusiasm amongst Republicans,” RPOF spokesman Dan Conston said.

From what I am gleaning from this information and the context, this is the “democrats” phase of the voting process. To do well in the long run they need two to three times as many voters in this phase as the republicans. It’s not even close to that. Also, it assumes tht if someone is a democrat they are going to automatically vote all democrat.

Let’s be frank here. Even the democrats have HAD IT with our current government. With the exception of the yellow dogs, many, MANY of the democrats will be voting for the non-incumbent. The Democrat “true believers” are the minority in this one.

I know plenty of “Democrats” who are eager to vote . . . Republican.

As my tagline attests.

Are you always the contrarian?

Yes, much of the time.

Almost all of your posts are in some manner supportive of a liberal position. I ask myself, “Why is that”?

Nonsense, they are not in any way supportive of a liberal position. I reject virtually everything the left represents and have, for a lifetime, fought against it. However, when I see nonsense coming from my own team I will call it out. I won't get caught up in my own side's spin and accept a bunch of propaganda because it makes me feel good. Post polls with no track record or internals to review and I will call them out as potential BS. Call a story about Dem early voting successes being lies when the article doesn't seem to be inaccurate and I will ask why it's a lie. Try to claim candidates like Paladino are competitive and I will point out the fact that all polling shows him being utterly crushed and having no chance to win.

Too many people seem to think the purpose of political forums is to be some sort of feel good echo chamber, and I completely reject that.

The only thing that makes me nervous about early voting is the OPPORTUNITY for the less than honest Dem’s to vote multiple times in different jurisdictions because the extended time period accommodates it.

With that said, I don’t think it will make much of a difference in the tsunami that is about to hit BUT if the Dem’s have done their homework, they can target what they feel are “close” elections and use their “serial voters” to swing those races.

Are you always the contrarian?

Let's hope someone is. This article says the dems are ahead in registration and ahead in early turnout.

We are pinning the hopes of the republic not on an educated public, but the hope that the anti-Americans are too lazy to exercise their considerable registration and union GOTV EDGE.

That worries me a lot about what this bodes for 2012 and beyond.

Meanwhile, rather than addressing this serious problem, there's nary a single longbow1969 pointing out the obvious with Obadiah's snarkily suggesting that he's a closet liberal. Listen to yourself! What a joke!

That is interesting. If the Dems are counting on such a massive early voting edge and are only up by a few points at this time, that would be a very good sign of things to come.

The key is, is it really accurate to say they are counting on winning in the early voting by 2 or 3 times the Republican vote? I knew they banked on having an edge, but 2 or 3 times seems an awful high number to hang their hat on.

13 days and counting down. Here comes the LSM trying to save their souls through false headlines, misleading reporting, and manufactured polls.

I wouldn’t discount these recent polls. The last time, when taking them as an aggregate, they were accurate. We should do well, but I don’t think it is going to be the blowout some predict.

In CO Denver is has cast only 14,000 votes or so from early voting and asbteene ballots being return so far, in the only 4 big counties of the state (El Paso and the three surburn counties) they ranging from 24,000-27,000 votes cast despite the fact that all five counties aveage between 260,000 to 290,000 register voters. El Paso “cousin” country of Douglas that has 165,000 (100,000 less then Denver)votes coutry wide already have 13,000 plus votes in. Some dem spokeman claim that a “urbarn” setting like Denver likes to wait to Election day to vote.

We need a national class action lawsuit. It is highly discriminatory that Republicans are allowed only one vote. Also, that dead Republicans are disenfranchised completely.

One thing I feel confident in predicting. *If* Republicans do well, including a decent house majority, they have 2 years to make draconian changes. If they do not, 2012 will be a disaster greatly exceeding 2008, and it will not be reversible.

In NC, Dems hav 12-point lead in voter registrations,

That doesn't mean much in southern states. Many fairly conservative voters still register as Dims, and usually vote for Dims in local and some state races, but for Republicans in presidential and congressional contests.

No problem with snarky if you've got something to back it up.

Unfortunately, in this particular case, the article supports what it says.

government employees are turning out as they always do. This is so they can vote early and then get others to the polls.

We need a FR GOTV power effort.

We have to take this as a red alert and tripple our efforts to get more people to the polls NOW.
