Sarah Palin has unquestionably made her voice heard in this election cycle - but if the GOP falls short of taking back the Senate as most prognosticators expect, the Pride of Wasilla will take a hit from party leaders who think she turns off independents.

"If we don't win the Senate I have one thing to say: ‘Thank you, Sarah Palin,'" a household name and bigtime player in Republican circles tells The Mouth.

This source and several other party elders believe Palin's endorsement of Christine O'Donnell has made a difficult Senate seat pickup in ideologically centrist Delaware hopeless.

They also believe Palin could be the difference between winning and losing in several other Senate races, including Nevada and California.

Palin is extremely unpopular among indie voters, especially in California. A recent Field Poll found that 69% of California independent voters have an unfavorable opinion of Palin. And independents are nearly a quarter of the California electorat

These anonymous sources claim that if Republicans don't win the Senate, it's Governor Palin's fault...seems the media and some of the faceless, spineless members of the GOP want to prematurely point fingers like it's 2008.....B.S.!!!!!!!

A completely ridiculous assertion. If there is any consensus, it is that the retaking of the Senate by the Republicans is a VERY outside shot. Not to do so can hardly be laid at Palin’s doorstep. This is just another case to try to set up Palin as the scapegoat for the party’s own failings.

Yet another tedious and tendentious criticism in what has become virtually an infinitely long line of the same; clearly, those on the political Left are terrified of Sarah.

Well, La-Di-Da.

Memo to RNC wheels: Screw you. If conservatism falls short, we fully expect RNC leadership to undermine whatever change can be leveraged. However, we’ll keep coming and, eventually, you’ll all get tossed into the trash with your bipartisan socialist colleagues.

Predictable damage control...

We will “fall short” according to the msm no matter how big we win and they haven’t stopped throwing filth at Palin since she entered the national consciousness.

The senate has always been an uphill battle so that is certainly not a fair gauge of the election’s outcome.

Who is this? What's their name? Why should anyone listen to an anonymous coward?

What a load of democratic propaganda...what the hell good would it have done us to get Mike Castle? He’s no different that Coons.

I keep pointing MY fingers at the republicans for sponsoring RINO’s. One of the reason’s I’m excited about this race is replacing them.

What? Who the heck set this goal? Nobody expects the Senate to go majority Republican.

Just another stupid setup for failure.

It failed!

They want to find someone to blame.....although it was always a uphill battle, this is a beginning fight for the 2012 nomination, they need to get people to doubt Sarah even more despite how well she speaks on issues and tells it like it is.....

It takes a lot of gall to come out with this BS when the RSCC and RNC have sandbagged COD from the beginning!

POX on the RINO house aka GOP Leadership!

Onward Operation RINO Kill (politically speaking, of course)!

This is so wrong.

Palin turns off Party leaders, not independents.
