Private Schools? For those who can OK. But the children must be taught to know and love the God of the Bible every day at public school. Just as God is acknowledged every day in the US Congress. Gather together, go down to your school boards and TELL THEM to do it. If there is a child or two whose parents don’t want them to pray, give them ear plugs. If the Board or anyone else refuses to comply fire them. Use the ballot box, but, do not accept resistance: overpower it.

You can’t even get away from it in private school.

My kids go to a very conservative Christian school in California. The school did not do anything with the purple day event, but kids at the school did.

My kids did not support the event beccause they felt it was too pro-gay. One of my middle school daughters really felt the pressure, but she stuck to her guns. She told her friends that she doesn’t hate Gay people, but she still thinks it’s wrong. Her friends told her that she sins and lies about things. My daughter then said that the difference is that she knows she does wrong, and she tries not to do wrong.

My high school son did not feel pressure, and had lots of other kids not supporting the “spirit” day.

Torahman, hopefully I can persuade you to think differently about public schools and religion.

Why?

1)Answer:...Because at their very best, when today's modern government schools opened ( mid-1800s to early 1900s), they offered up a generic and lukewarm Protestantism. We know what Christ says about the lukewarm. He spits them out of His mouth!

It was not long before government schooling was essentially godless with a sprinkle of prayer in the morning.

2)Whose prayer do we use? Any government powerful enough to force the children to attend schools with Christian prayer, it can force children to attend schools with Muslim, Mormon, Scientology, or pagan prayer.

3) Can you imagine the reaction of many of the Marxist teachers in the government schools? Yes, there may be prayer but the teachers would be sighing with disgust and rolling their eyes. What lesson is taught there?

I had the good fortune to attend Catholic parochial schools for 10 years. Our religious belief was woven into every minute of the day. Moral and ethical issues found in all literature was evaluated from a God-centered and **Catholic** point of view. Our religious leaders and their opinions and writings and our church's history were freely and openly discussed when appropriate to the topic. Just to give only three of likely **hundreds** of examples:

** When we heard a police, fire, or ambulance siren, the nun stopped the class and we all prayed for the safety of all involved.

** We began every hour with prayer and asked God's blessing on the new topic to be covered.

** Yes, we had stars and stickers for rewards but a special treat was to be given a “Holy Card” with a picture of a saint.

A child deserves an education that fully and completely grounds him in his family's religious traditions. He should never be fed lukewarm and generic religion. If his faith and philosophic roots are not deeply embedded in the faith of his fathers, he will be left defenseless when challenged by his Marxist professors and confront with our corrupt culture. To grow those roots his family's religion must be a vital part of every subject. Everything must be evaluated from that worldview.

Yes, we can as a nation move to private schooling. I support vouchers, tax credits, and charters. Then gradually we must move to having parents take on the full cost of educating their own children with charity helping the poorest.

By the way, my daughter and her husband will send their son to a local Christian school. The cost is a mere $3,000 a year. This is **less** than the cost of babysitting....And, the school welcomes children with learning disabilities.

As a nation we **can** afford to move children into private settings. The less institutional and prison-like the better.

With today's technology and wonderful curriculum we should be able to have neighborhood one-room schools in the homes of trusted friends and neighbors. Homeschool co-ops, and storefront tutoring centers are also option. We should move all sports, theater, and music programs to the county departments of recreation.

Our Founding Fathers enjoyed a mixed educational experience of homeschool, one room schools, Sunday schooling, and private tutoring. Children of today could, indeed, have open to them an excellent educational experience similar to that of our Founding Fathers.

First we need to take back the word gay and return it to what it once meant which was care free and happy.

I refuse to refer to those deviants as “gay”. We must, must, must start referring to them as homosexuals and forevermore discontinue the “g” word!
