She was at a party in 2008 when football star Rakheem Bolton, fellow player Christian Roundtree and another boy pushed her into a bedroom and locked the door, held her down, and sexually assaulted her...

I'd say it's time for her extremely distraught daddy to impose a little 9mm Texas justice and put one behind Rakheem's diamond encrusted earlobe. That'll give his daughter something to cheer about.

...taught another negative O.J. lesson by the courts and by the adults.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to post wondering if this player was a future OJ in a criminal sense.

Richard Bain, This Is What You Did

It’s not like what happened is in dispute. Rakheem Bolton has now pleaded guilty to a crime in connection with the incident, when [Trigger Warning] at an after-game party, he and another athlete, Christian Roundtree, pushed her into a room and raped her. Now, most of us would wonder what kind of a moral lesson it sends when a school has a known criminal on its high school basketball team. Most of us wonder how on earth an educator (a career educator, with a comfortable six figure salary) could make the decision not to throw him off. One might even ponder the culture of athletics in a school where athletes work together to rape a young woman, at an after-game party.

Case: 09-41075 Document: 00511235594 Page: 1 Date Filed: 09/16/2010
IN THE UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS
FOR THE FIFTH CIRCUIT

“Appellants claim that after the arrest,
Sheffield told them that despite having enough evidence to go to trial, the grand jury was racially divided and therefore would not vote to return an indictment
against Rountree and Bolton, who were African-American.”\

I am shocked! Wonder from what diverse group of citizens the victim was from.

This has already gone to the court of appeals and she lost the "Free Speech" case. And I agree.

I'm still questioning her being at the "party" at all. And how many other cheerleaders were there?? Where's that little piece of the story. And if the other cheerleaders were there, why did she wander??

I agree with your thinking...Was she white or black??

Former football player sentenced

Updated: Sep 14, 2010 4:26 PM EDT
A former Silsbee High School football player pleaded guilty in court Tuesday to Class A Assault. The plea comes nearly 2 years after an incident in which he and another person were accused of attacking a cheerleader.

Rakheem Jamal Bolton, 19, is one of 2 people accused of sexually assaulting a cheerleader at a party in 2008. Bolton was sentenced to 1 year in the Hardin County Jail, but the judge suspended the sentence and placed Bolton on 2 years probation and fined him $2,500. Bolton must also do 150 hours of community service.

The other person charged, Christian Roundtree, 20, still has a pending case.

12 News HD’s Molly O’Brien has talked with the prosecuting attorney and will have more on this story tonight at 6 and 6:30 p.m.

And what about her “sista” cheerleaders and other students? Where is their support of her?

That's my question, too. Which side are the students on?

When are parents going to start removing their daughters’ rapists from the planet?

At a football coaches clinic I attended a few months ago, the lecturer threw out a stat, to highlight how ridiculous things are getting.

He said that the average age of a graduating high school senior in Texas is 17.5 years. The average age of a graduating high school senior who plays football is 19.5 years.

They are holding them back, not one, but two years so they can be better players their senior year, and be more likely to get a scholarship so that they can not study at a bad school and come out with a worthless degree or no degree. Pathetic.

Her race, that she was at the ‘party’ makes not difference. She was forceibly raped. I am from Texas where we are taught to respect our women, regardless of race, religion or national origin. If that had been my daugher, the rapist would have begged for a nice safe jail cell before I was done with him. Then I would have gond after the principal.

are you insinuating it was somehow her fault?.consenual?....

yeah...young men always climb out the window when they've done nothing wrong...

rape will only be treated as the ultimate personal destruction it is when young men are routinely attacked by gangs of homosexual young men.....THEN we'll see action..

I have to ask why isn't the girl SUEING the pants off of the school district plus the "boy"...??

19 and 20 years old and still in high school. That should tell everyone all that they need to know about Silsbee High School's faculty with their fancy new school.
My daughter got sent there sometimes as a teacher's aide for her teaching degree. She didn't like it much but was obligated to go where she was sent.

This story was posted some time ago. I'm still wondering whether the young lady actually has any male relatives and why the bastards who did this to her are still drawing breath.

Killing the rapist as opposed to the victim might not qualify as an "honor" killing in certain communities, but removing these youths from the land of the living would be "honorable". And, speaking as a father with two daughters around the same age, taking a long time to do it in a sound proof basement with the school superintendent in the last chair would be "just".

Oops...never mind.
Rakheem Jamal Bolton, 19, is one of 2 people accused of sexually assaulting a cheerleader at a party in 2008.
They would have been 17 and 18 at the time.

Either way their school system isn't "all that".
