The word "Devout" sometimes means "Radical". There is no way of knowing the personal history of these Muslims, new appointees to Home Land Security. Some Muslims have indicated they want nothing to do with "Radical Muslim" beliefs.....indicating they want to mainstream into American Society. Many other Muslims have indicated they belong to the "Brotherhood", and wish to replace American culture and law with Muslim culture and law (these Muslims are a clear and present danger).
Below is a link to the "white paper" study put out by the Center for Islamic Studies at the Hudson Institute on "THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN THE UNITED STATES" by Steven Merley. It is a research paper dated April, 2009. The Muslim Brotherhood is an organization dedicated to the overthrow of the United States.

Obama appointed two devout Muslims to homeland security posts - Kareem Shora and Arif Alikhan
Obama and Janet Napolitano appointed Arif Alikhan, a devout Muslim, as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano swore-in Kareem Shora, a devout Muslim, who was born in Damascus, Syria, as ADC National Executive Director as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC).
NOTE: Has anyone ever heard a new government official being identified as a devout Catholic, a devout Jew or a devout Protestant...? Just wondering.

Obama knows the jig may be up for him in two weeks, so he's having fun right now jamming things down our throats that he knows will drive us nuts. The man is certifiably psychotic.
Think of what he'll do after election day if we don't get substantial majorities in the House and Senate. In fact, think what he may do during the lame duck session. We have to prepare ourselves psychologically for any eventuality. We're not dealing with normalcy here.
Even more scary is that there'll certainly be another Supreme Court vacancy right away. He simply must not be allowed to push his commie comrades onto the Bench where they can sit for three future decades of destruction.
He's going to figure a way to rule by fiat, executive order, blackmail, bribery or whatever he takes unless he's stopped......one way or the other.
I don't think America in general has yet awakened to what's at stake on November 2...and too many don't even care.
November 2 is going to be an even more frightening day than Halloween makes out to be. On that day our lives as we know them and as we have lived them may be irrevocably changed.

The 9/11 monsters, the guy at Fort Hood...were DEVOUT Muslims...not “radical” at all but DEVOUT. Liberal Muslims who accept just portions of the facist socio-economic theocratic philosophy (not a religion BTW) are not scary for they don’t believe large chunks of it.
So, it is not RADICAL Islam we must fear but Devout Islam...and we must prevent more from becoming “devout” by starting right here in America to bulldoze down every mosque across the fruited plain.
Devout Christians, Amish, Buddhists, Judiasts, even atheists...are not scary but Devout Muslims must be viewed as the most scary, most dangerous aggressors on the planet and all of humanity must push them back and crush their system.

During his years in Los Angeles, Alikhan was responsible for derailing Police Department efforts to monitor activities within the city’s Muslim community, where numerous radical mosques and madrassas were known to exist, and where some of the 9/11 hijackers had received support from local residents.
Hostile toward Israel, Alikhan is affiliated with the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), which has referred to the terrorist organization Hezbollah as a “liberation movement.”
